Sony has officially updated the prices for PlayStation Plus today. The company announced earlier this week that it was raising prices due to changes in the market. Initially, they only shared how the price increases would affect the Essential tier. Now that the changes are live, it’s confirmed that prices have increased across all three PlayStation Plus tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium.
While the recent price changes to PS Plus aren’t huge, they do add up. Compared to the price adjustments Sony made last year, these increases are smaller—only $1 more per month for PS Plus Essential, and $2 more for Extra and Premium. Even though the monthly increase is small, it results in a noticeable difference in the overall yearly cost of the service.
Here’s the full breakdown of pricing changes that have come to PlayStation Plus:
PlayStation Plus Essential
- 1 Month Subscription – $10.99 (Previously $9.99)
- 3 Month Subscription – $27.99 (Previously $24.99)
PlayStation Plus Extra
- 1 Month Subscription – $16.99 (Previously $14.99)
- 3 Month Subscription – $43.99 (Previously $39.99)
PlayStation Plus Premium
- 1 Month Subscription – $19.99 (Previously $17.99)
- 3 Month Subscription – $54.99 (Previously $49.99)

Surprisingly, Sony hasn’t raised the price of its yearly PlayStation Plus subscriptions. These 12-month plans already offered the best value, but now they’re an even better deal after the price increases for the shorter-term subscriptions. A year of PS Plus Essential still costs $79.99, PS Plus Extra is $134.99, and PS Plus Premium remains at $159.99.
Here’s some good news: Sony will continue to charge existing PlayStation Plus members the price they’re currently paying. For example, if you’re paying $9.99 a month for PS Plus Essential, that price won’t change to the new $10.99. Keep in mind this discount only applies as long as you remain a continuous PS Plus member. If you cancel and then resubscribe later, you’ll pay the new, higher price.
