Kylie Minogue is sharing a private health battle.
Kylie Minogue, who overcame breast cancer in 2005, has announced she’s been diagnosed with the disease again, nearly 20 years later.
As many of you know, I’ve faced health challenges, and I recently opened up in my new Netflix docuseries, Kylie, about a second cancer diagnosis I received in early 2021. It was a very different experience than the first time around – this time, I was able to keep it private, which meant a lot to me.
I managed to get through it all, once again,” she said. “Everything’s okay now. You never know what the future holds, but making music keeps me going – I’m more passionate about it than ever before.
Looking back, the Grammy-winning singer, who previously battled cancer publicly, admitted it was hard to decide when to share her second diagnosis, especially after finishing treatment. She specifically worried about announcing the news right after her 2023 hit song, “Padam Padam,” became successful.
She explained that she didn’t feel any need to share what happened with everyone, and honestly, she wasn’t even able to at the time. She was completely emotionally drained and, for a while, didn’t even want to leave her home.
Kylie shared that while ‘Padam Padam’ brought her a lot of opportunities, she understood that her cancer diagnosis was much more than a temporary setback.
Though “I Believe in You” artist did consider sharing her story on multiple occasions.
She explained she needed to share what had happened to finally move on. She’d often think about speaking up – during interviews and other chances – but she always held back.
Although people didn’t know Kylie was going through a difficult time privately, she hinted at her struggles in her music, particularly in her 2023 song “Story” from the album Tension.

After receiving a diagnosis through a regular checkup, the Australian performer emphasized how important it is for everyone to stay on top of their health and get routine exams.
Kylie explained in a statement about the Netflix documentary, as reported by The Guardian, that a simple nudge to get regular check-ups could make a real difference for someone. She emphasized that finding things early was key for her own health.
As someone who’s navigated health challenges, I can really relate to this artist’s journey. Back in 2005, she received a breast cancer diagnosis and bravely went through a lumpectomy, chemo, and radiation. Thankfully, she got the all-clear! But life threw another curveball in 2021 with a second diagnosis, and she’s facing it with that same incredible strength.
I’m thrilled to share that Kylie is doing really well now! She’s expressed so much gratitude for her health today, and it’s wonderful to hear. If you’re interested in learning about other celebrities who’ve faced cancer with courage, keep reading – their stories are incredibly inspiring.
