From July 31st onwards, Xbox Game Pass members won’t have access to a 2024 game that’s currently part of their subscription. They only have four days left to play it for free within the Game Pass library. Moreover, if they want to keep playing this game after it leaves the service, they can buy it at a 20% discount, which is exclusive to Xbox Game Pass subscribers until July 31st.
The game under discussion is Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, an action-strategy title that Capcom launched last summer on July 19, 2024 across multiple platforms including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. More recently, it has also been made available for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Path of the Goddess, developed by Capcom, has received generally positive reviews with a Metacritic score ranging between 80 and 84. However, the sales didn’t meet Capcom’s expectations, which meant it wasn’t a hit for them. In other words, although critics liked it, the game didn’t sell as well as they had hoped.
In the official description of Capcom’s game, it is stated for those unaware: ‘Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess’ is a singular experience blending Japanese aesthetics with Action Strategy in a Kagura setting. The story unfolds on a mountain tainted by corruption. By day, purify the villages and prepare for nightfall. At night, defend the Maiden from the swarms of the Seethe. Continue this day-night cycle until you rid the mountain of corruption and restore tranquility to the land.
As a diehard fan, I’m excited to share that Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is now available on the Microsoft Store for $39.99 (a discounted price of $32), but if you’re budget-conscious and still want to experience this Capcom masterpiece, you have four days left to take advantage of the free play trial!
The game typically lasts between 16 to 21 hours for a casual player, while completionists might find themselves investing around 30 to 35 hours. It’s definitely doable within those four days, but be prepared for some marathon gaming sessions.
To finish the game, you’re looking at approximately 4-5 hours per day, while dedicated completionists should plan on putting in about 6-7 hours daily. So grab your controller and let’s embark on this divine adventure together!
