Titan Comics is releasing a new graphic novel called Spielberg by Amazing Améziane. It explores the director’s career, from his early days to the blockbuster success of Jaws, as well as films like E.T. and Schindler’s List. This is the fifth book in Améziane’s ‘Cine’ series, which focuses on the stories behind famous Hollywood directors – previous subjects include Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, and Francis Ford Coppola. Spielberg will be available on September 1, 2026, and is available for pre-order now for $24.99.

Early looks inside the book Spielberg reveal details about a key period in the director’s career. In the book, Spielberg explains his approach to Jaws, saying, “I wanted Jaws to feel like a thriller with relatable characters facing unbelievable circumstances. That’s why we aimed for the most realistic filming style possible.”
The following pages offer a more detailed look at how Steven Spielberg created Jaws and the challenges he encountered. He explains, “I was living in the desert at the time and didn’t understand the ocean, the tides, or how much they affected filming.” Spielberg also faced difficulties with the unpredictable weather. “The weather could change so quickly – the sky would darken instantly and alter the water’s color – making it hard to maintain consistency between shots.”
Ameziane’s graphic novel is a substantial 192 pages long, offering a deep dive into the making of Spielberg’s films. Titan Comics says the book, like Ameziane’s other biographies, will reveal fascinating stories from behind the scenes.
