Emmerdale airs emotional exit cliffhanger for Dawn Fletcher in early ITVX release

Dawn Fletcher, played by Olivia Bromley, tried to leave Emmerdale, but someone stopped her.

Okay, so in the latest episode, my jaw dropped when she finally confronted Moira Dingle. Apparently, she’s been absolutely eaten up with guilt over the whole scheme they cooked up against her fiancé, Joe Tate. It was a really tense scene, and you could feel the weight of her regret. It’s clear this is going to blow up in a big way.

They had spent the night together after she told him she loved him, which made things complicated because she was on the verge of revealing a secret plan.

As fans of the show will recall, Dawn teamed up with Moira and her husband, Cain, to expose Joe’s crimes. They discovered he was behind the blackmail of Robert Sugden, which led Robert to falsely accuse Moira of murder and human trafficking. Joe accomplished this by secretly placing passports – belonging to Celia Daniels and the victims of Ray Walters’s exploitation – in Moira’s home.

Robert feared his sister, Victoria, would face serious consequences because Joe had evidence – a video – of her accidentally killing their half-brother, John.

Afterward, Joe persuaded Moira to sell her farm, Butler’s Farm, and he took possession of the keys. He then cut down the tree that had been planted in memory of her daughter.

Moira originally planned to threaten the millionaire with a shotgun, and Dawn found out about it. They then came up with a new plan: Dawn would continue to date the man, hoping to eventually inherit his wealth.

It came to light earlier this week that Joe and his former guardian, Graham Foster, already knew what was happening. Joe clarified he wasn’t trying to force Dawn to reconcile, and wants her to decide for herself if she wants to be with him.

He became increasingly devoted to her, desperately hoping she would reconsider. He even took her to the hospital when she fainted after falling down the stairs.

Okay, so Dawn is clearly panicked. She’s hinted to her ex, Billy, that something big is about to happen – something that will explain why she’s making a potentially drastic decision. She’s trying to soften the blow, telling him he’ll get it eventually, but honestly, it just feels like she’s delaying the inevitable and creating more tension. As a viewer, I’m left wondering what exactly is going on, and I’m definitely intrigued – and a little worried – about where this is headed.

She quietly packed her things in the car and asked Moira to create a diversion at Home Farm, hoping to leave without anyone noticing. However, Graham had found out about her plan and alerted Joe.

He pleaded with her to think about how her life would change, hoping to stall her long enough for Joe to arrive.

Dawn briefly appeared to be reconsidering, but Graham cautioned that staying would probably lead to her growing resentful of Joe, and things would quickly fall apart.

Joe then rushed over to the car bonnet, urging her to hear him out.

What will Dawn do?
