Sony recently filed a trademark for a game called Break In, suggesting they may announce it at their State of Play event on June 2nd. Insider Gaming first spotted the trademark filing, which was submitted on May 20th.
The trademark filing doesn’t offer many details, but it falls under the same category as video game software – both downloadable and recorded versions. This, along with the title, suggests it could be a new branding for Haven Studios’ game, Fairgame$. The name “Break In” fits the game’s heist theme, and since Fairgame$ was initially planned for PC and PlayStation 5, the mention of “computer game software” in the filing further supports this idea.
Information about the upcoming game Fairgame$ has been limited, and recent playtests haven’t gone well, according to reports from last month. These tests involved players battling each other in teams of three on a map designed like a mansion. Players noted the game’s visuals were more realistic than what was shown in the initial trailer. However, feedback on the core gameplay – including how characters move, the different character classes, and the non-player characters – was largely negative.
So, I heard last month that this heist shooter is getting a new mode that’s more like an extraction shooter. It’s called Cargo Heist, and basically, you’ll be hunting for a code to crack open a vault. If you manage to do that, you’ll get cash to level up your character. Apparently, the devs are also taking some inspiration from games like Fortnite and The Division 2, which sounds pretty cool!
Following the initial announcement of Fairgame$, Haven Studios has experienced several key staff leaving, notably including founder and studio head Jade Raymond. PlayStation has acknowledged Raymond’s departure and expressed gratitude for her contributions. Marie-Eve Danis and Pierre-François Sapinski have now stepped into leadership roles as co-studio heads.
We’re thankful for Jade Raymond’s vision and leadership in creating Haven Studios,” a representative stated. “We appreciate everything she’s done and wish her success in the future.
Daniel Drapeau, the game director for Fairgame$, has announced he left Haven Studios in September 2025. His departure is significant for the studio, as he was one of its earliest employees and a well-known figure in the gaming industry.
Sony might reveal Fairgame$ – now called Break In – at the upcoming State of Play event, alongside big titles like Marvel’s Wolverine. Reports suggest we could also see announcements of more PlayStation 5 exclusives, potentially including a new God of War game.
Insomniac Games’ new game will be a major highlight of the upcoming showcase, and Sony has promised to share a detailed preview. The showcase is expected to last over an hour and will include news, announcements, and first looks at gameplay.
