Kyle Busch is sidelined amid a health scare.
The NASCAR driver, age 41, is in the hospital due to a serious illness, his family has announced.
According to a statement posted on social media on May 21st, he is receiving treatment and will miss all events at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend. The family has asked for privacy and understanding during this difficult time.
Besides the main Cup race, Kyle Busch—who has two children, 11-year-old Brexton and 4-year-old Lennix, with his wife Samantha—was also set to race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event in Concord, North Carolina, on May 22nd.
For the first time in over ten years, Kyle Busch will not be competing in a Cup Series race. The last time he missed a race was in 2015, when he was recovering from a serious leg and foot injury sustained in a crash. That injury forced him to sit out the first eleven races of the season.
After news of his hospitalization became public, Richard Childress Racing (RCR) released a statement of support for their driver and his family.
Richard Childress Racing (RCR) stated that Kyle Busch’s well-being is their main concern, and he and his family have the full support of the organization, according to ESPN. RCR emphasized that Busch is a key member of their team and they hope he recovers quickly. His car, the No. 8 Chevrolet, will be prepared when he’s ready to return.
Richard Childress Racing announced that Austin Hill will fill in for Kyle Busch, and asked fans to keep Kyle and his family in their thoughts and respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Lupita Nyong’o received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, which was also the year she won an Academy Award for her role in 12 Years a Slave.
She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with the condition for over ten years.
She explained that growing up, many girls are told to expect period pain and to accept it as a normal part of womanhood. This often leaves people dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she had been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap to form in her abdominal muscles.
Okay, so I saw this hilarious message from a friend on X, what used to be Twitter. She was playfully calling me out for not being very active on the platform, and honestly, it reminded me of something I’ve been keeping quiet! Six months ago, I wore a pair of pants that were…a little too snug. Let’s just say it resulted in a hernia, and I’ve been a bit hesitant to share that with anyone, including her! It’s a funny story now, but definitely a lesson learned about comfortable clothing!

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery for a nearly ruptured appendix.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain, which led him to the emergency room. Doctors discovered his appendix had a hole in it – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to doing so.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

A Racing Louisville soccer player collapsed on the field shortly after the start of their game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle.

Adam Devine revealed that he still feels the effects of injuries he suffered as a child when he was hit by a cement truck at age 11.
“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I’ve been experiencing spasms all over my body, and doctors recently told me I was in a life-threatening situation—I really thought I was going to die within the last year.”
He acknowledged that his pain is intermittent, explaining that his body has some minor imperfections and doesn’t always function as expected.

A former contestant on The Bachelor recently went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He described having to crawl on his hands and knees due to the pain, which got worse during a road trip with a friend.
He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a single squat or stand on one leg without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter from The Real Housewives of Orange County revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is recovering well.

The comedian later posted on social media to explain that he had actually gotten food poisoning and was starting to feel better.

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.
Oh my god, you will NOT believe what happened! We were at this party, and some people were being SO reckless with a gun, firing it completely the wrong way. I actually got SHOT in the face! It all happened so fast, but Brendan Rooney – seriously, he’s an angel – instantly jumped in, checked me over, and got me to the hospital. I ended up with five wounds, and one of them was dangerously close to my eye – like, less than an inch! I owe Brendan my life, honestly. He’s my hero!
The former Kim Possible star shared that a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they’re keeping a close watch on the situation. Thankfully, their vision is currently normal.

While the internet isn’t always a kind place, Amy Schumer is happy that, in this case, it helped her get answers.
“The internet really came for me after doing a bunch of press, and I was like, ‘OK everybody, relax,'” Amy recalled of her “puffier” face on a January 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy. “But then doctors were chiming in in the comments and they were like, ‘No no, we think something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy that we think something’s up. And I’m like, ‘Wait, I’m getting trolled by doctors?’”
After these doctors said they thought she had Cushing syndrome and that it may be caused by spiking coritsol levels or steroid injections, the Life & Beth creator thought, “Wait, I have been getting steroid injections in my scars.”
“I had a breast reduction, a C-section, whatever, and so I was getting these steroid injections,” Amy said. “So it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome, which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard.”
Toda, Amy is just relieved she’s OK. As she shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable.”

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald shared with ESPN how relieved they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

As a health and wellness advocate, I’ve always believed in sharing personal experiences to help others, and I want to share my story from early 2022. I was having breakfast with Justin when I suddenly started feeling really strange. I couldn’t quite respond when he asked if I was okay, and then I realized I couldn’t speak! The right side of my face started to droop, and it was honestly the scariest moment of my life. Thankfully, the symptoms passed, but I immediately went to the hospital to get checked out.
After some tests, doctors discovered I’d had a very small blood clot travel to my brain, which they identified as a TIA, or transient ischemic attack. Further investigation at UCLA revealed I have a small hole in my heart called a patent foramen ovale, or PFO. Apparently, the blood clot had gone through that hole and caused the TIA.
I had a procedure to close the PFO, and I’m so happy to say I’m feeling fantastic now. It was a scary experience, but I’m grateful for the quick diagnosis and treatment, and I want to encourage everyone to listen to their body and seek medical attention if something doesn’t feel right.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, calling the situation scary and random, but expressing gratitude that he was going to be okay.

As a huge fan, I was so worried when I heard about Jamie Foxx’s health scare back in April 2023. He kept things pretty quiet at first, but he finally shared what happened in his new Netflix special, and it was incredibly moving. He described having a terrible headache one day while in Atlanta and asking for aspirin, but then he just… went out. He literally doesn’t remember the next twenty days!
At first, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but thankfully his sister, Deidra Dixon, knew something wasn’t right and drove him to the hospital. That’s where they discovered he’d had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
Twenty days after surgery, on May 4th, he woke up in a wheelchair, unable to walk. He then went to Chicago for intense rehabilitation and therapy to get back on his feet. He’s so grateful for all the prayers he received, and honestly, it’s clear he needed every single one. It’s just amazing to see him recovering and sharing his story.

The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running in the first challenge of the NBC competition show, describing the experience as feeling like ‘dying’.
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but she then experienced a bright light, leading her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing and she hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.

As a huge fan of Emilia Clarke, I was absolutely floored when I read her essay detailing her health battles. It’s incredible considering how strong she was throughout filming Game of Thrones. She described a terrifying experience at the gym in 2019, where a severe headache quickly escalated. She barely made it to the bathroom before becoming violently ill, and realized something was seriously wrong with her brain.
It turned out she’d suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She had immediate surgery, but the pain was unimaginable. While recovering, she struggled with aphasia, finding it hard to speak and often just muttering nonsense. Thankfully, that passed after about a week, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month.
But the ordeal wasn’t over. A scan in 2013 revealed the aneurysm had doubled in size, requiring a second surgery. This one was even more difficult and initially failed, leading to a massive bleed. Doctors warned her that another operation was risky, but necessary – they had to access her brain directly through her skull. Thankfully, she pulled through, and she’s now thankfully at 100%. It’s truly inspiring to see how she’s overcome such incredible challenges.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, recently shared how thankful she is for her family’s support after experiencing a stroke in January 2024. She immediately contacted them, sending a text and photo, and they quickly came to her aid, she told TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi in December 2024. While she could have been discharged after the stroke, existing health issues – including lupus and kidney problems – required a longer hospital stay. Cori is now recovering well. “I’m doing great,” she said, adding that she’s been working to regain some motor skills, but is otherwise feeling good.

I’ve been a long-time admirer of Shailene Woodley, and I was really moved by what she shared recently about her health struggles. She talked about how tough her early twenties were – she was dealing with so much, it was heartbreaking to hear. She actually lost some of her hearing and couldn’t even walk for more than five minutes without needing to rest for hours. Everything she ate caused her pain! It was a confusing time with lots of different diagnoses and doctors offering different opinions.
Because she comes from a holistic background and studies herbalism, she took a really proactive approach, working with both traditional doctors and alternative healers. It wasn’t a quick fix, though – it took a full ten years to figure things out. She explained how the physical discomfort led to a lot of anxiety around food, and eventually, to struggles with body image and feeling comfortable in her own skin. It sounds like a really difficult journey of self-discovery.
Thankfully, she’s now in a much better place. She shared that her health issues ultimately resolved themselves and that she’s feeling really healthy and happy. It’s so inspiring to hear her talk about it, and I’m so glad she’s doing well.
