Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Features Chadley in An Important Story Role

As a huge Final Fantasy 7 fan, I was so excited to see all the classic characters return in Remake. But honestly, one of the biggest surprises was how much everyone loves Chadley! He’s just got this great personality and a strong dislike for Shinra, which is awesome. A lot of us were hoping he’d be playable in Part 3, and while director Naoki Hamaguchi didn’t say yes or no in a recent interview with Restart, he did confirm that Chadley will still be important to the story. That’s good enough for me – I’m glad he’s sticking around!

Hamaguchi mentioned that his character will continue to develop, particularly regarding his habit of rambling when he’s passionate about a topic.

We know a lot of people like Chadley,” he explained. “But we can’t say anything about whether he’ll be a playable character in the game right now.

Even in the last game of the trilogy, Chadley will still be a key character. The third game will delve deeper into his personality – his natural curiosity and habit of oversharing, which he’s both aware of and a little insecure about. We hope players enjoy seeing how Chadley gets involved in the story and how he helps the main characters.

In Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Chadley appears early on as a key character for optional challenges. He provides access to VR missions where players can test their skills and earn powerful summon materia. He also offers extra goals throughout the game, like scanning enough enemies with the Assess ability or successfully Staggering certain foes.

Players could earn strong materia, such as Parry, First Strike, and Skill Master, by completing various tasks. Finishing all of Chadley’s challenges unlocked a super-tough optional boss, Bahamut, and defeating him gave players the Bahamut Summon materia as a reward.

In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Chadley is a character you’ll often find in new towns, giving you extra side quests. He also created an AI companion named MAI, and together they manage a lot of the game’s optional activities. However, some players found his frequent appearances and constant talking to be repetitive and annoying.

It’s still unclear what role Chadley will play in the story of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3. However, the development team, led by Hamaguchi, has stated they intend to stay true to the original Final Fantasy 7 storyline. They’re placing their trust in the game’s writer, Kazushige Nojima, and are being very careful not to make significant alterations to the established narrative.

I completely trust Kazushige Nojima’s story, and I won’t change it based on my own opinions. However, because the remakes look so much more realistic now, following the original game’s timing and events exactly can sometimes feel awkward or unbelievable.

If shifts in time or dates don’t seem believable, it can disconnect players from the story and their emotional connection to it.

Good news! Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S starting June 3rd. You can find all the details about the Xbox Series X/S version right here.
