Why Love Is Blind’s Alexa Lemieux Ended Brennon Lemieux Marriage

Alexa Lemieux is sharing her side of the story.

The former star of Love Is Blind explained the events that led to her divorce from Brennan Lemieux, with whom she shares a 22-month-old daughter named Vienna. He filed for divorce in December after they had been married for four years.

Alexa explained on the May 21st episode of the He Said, G Said podcast that she had requested the separation. She clarified it wasn’t due to a lack of affection, but simply because she was exhausted and couldn’t continue the relationship anymore.

I just wanted my daughter to witness a healthy relationship, and what she saw wasn’t it. I would feel like I’d failed as a mother if she believed that was what love should look like.

As someone who follows relationships closely, I was really touched by Alexa’s story. She found love with Brennan on ‘Love is Blind’ back in 2022, and recently shared how a simple social media post really made her reflect on where things stood in her marriage. It was a vulnerable moment, and honestly, it’s something I think a lot of us can relate to – those little things that make you pause and really check in with your partner.

She admitted it felt silly, but she’d seen a TikTok video that asked a thought-provoking question: ‘If your daughter were dating the person you’re with, would you approve or disapprove?’

And it was acknowledging her answer that led to a moment of clarity.

Alexa continued, her voice trembling with emotion. “I would have been devastated,” she said, fighting back tears. “It would have completely crushed me. I already gave my answer, so I don’t understand why this is happening to me.”

The reality star made these statements following Brennon’s divorce filing. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, she claimed he was responsible for the marriage ending and requested a larger share of their assets in the divorce.

In court documents, 35-year-old Brennon stated his marriage to Alexa had become unbearable because of clashing personalities, and he doesn’t believe they can get back together.

Despite their personal issues, the couple agreed to present a unified appearance for their daughter’s benefit.

In a December Instagram post, Alexa announced that she and her husband are separating but will continue to support each other and prioritize their daughter. She shared that they began their marriage with love and hope, and are now ending it with thankfulness for the lessons they’ve learned and how they’ve both grown as individuals.

Amber, mother to Emma, was anxious about whether Jordan would actually go through with the wedding when the moment arrived.

She was relieved when both of them agreed, and the happy news brought tears to almost everyone’s eyes, even her daughter’s.

The couple announced during a heartfelt conversation at the season 10 reunion that they had broken up only four months prior.

Right before their nuptials, Brittany revealed she was “shocked” when Devonta called it all off.

She shared with the camera that today was meant to be her wedding day, but it didn’t happen. She added that she currently feels like none of her hopes and dreams are coming true.

Devonta said their relationship had been good overall, but she realized she couldn’t marry her ex because she wasn’t sure she could give them the love they deserved. She explained that this lack of certainty was the reason she couldn’t go through with the wedding – she simply couldn’t move forward with those doubts.

Despite Brittany saying they’ll remain a couple, Devonta has stated he doesn’t share that view.

I was so thrilled to hear that Devonta shared some amazing news at the Season 10 reunion! He’s engaged to a wonderful friend, and they’re expecting a baby! It makes me so happy for them both.

I was so worried when I heard Bri and Connor called off their wedding so close to the date! But I was thrilled to see them at the reunion – they both admitted they’re still deeply in love and are planning to work towards getting married someday. It’s so reassuring to know they’re still on their path to happiness!

Their engagement ended suddenly when Chris told Jessica he wasn’t physically attracted to her.

Jessica eventually found love with another contestant on the show, Dr. Haramol Gill, as she shared during the reunion special.

During the show, Haramol told Jess, ‘You light up every room you enter. You’re amazing.’

Despite falling in love without meeting in person, Emma and Mike ultimately couldn’t reconcile their different views on having children—Emma wasn’t sure she wanted them, while Mike was certain he did—and decided not to get married.

Mike told Emma, “I love you.” But he wasn’t ready to commit to marriage just yet. He explained that he really wanted to have children and needed to be sure they both wanted the same thing – a family together – before making such a big decision. He didn’t want to rush into anything only to find out their feelings changed later.

Although Emma believes they might have a future as a family, Mike wants her to be completely sure before they move forward.

Look, when it comes to marriage, it’s incredibly important to me that we’re both on the same page about having a family. It’s not something I can compromise on, and I need to be absolutely sure we both want that future together. I truly respect your feelings and any reasons you have, but I just can’t move forward without that certainty. It’s a tough conversation, and I’m sorry if it’s disappointing, but being aligned on this is everything to me.

The soccer coach, who gained attention from viewers this season, described his wedding day as being like a high-stakes penalty shootout, but expressed confidence that he and his partner would succeed.

Okay, so he was totally hinting at proposing, right? But Ashley shut it down immediately. Like, someone even asked if he’d say ‘I do,’ and she just jumped in before he could even think about it! It was… intense. She definitely didn’t want him getting any ideas, and honestly, I was living for it. She knows what she wants!

“I already know what you’re thinking,” Ashley said to him. “You’re not picking me, and I’m not picking you either.” She then explained why their relationship wasn’t working, even questioning his honesty, which Alex immediately responded to.

He admitted he partially disagreed with her assessment of his character. He explained that the questions about his past felt like a deliberate attempt to find fault, rather than a genuine effort to get to know him.

Honestly, people keep asking if he has any regrets, and it just kills me that anyone would even think that! He told me himself – and it was amazing to hear – that he wouldn’t change a single thing. He’s so happy with who he is and everything he’s done, and I’m just bursting with pride for him! It’s perfect, absolutely perfect.

Christine and Vic immediately connected and were excited about building a future together.

During his wedding vows, he admitted he never expected to find love through such an unusual experience. Turning to his bride, Christine, he shared that they instantly felt a connection when they first spoke while separated by pods. He confessed that she knew him better than anyone else in the world.

Honestly, I always felt Anton just wasn’t the right fit for Ali. His lifestyle – the drinking and his money troubles – it just didn’t align with what she wanted in a partner. It became pretty clear to me that they were looking for different things.

Let’s be real, sometimes love just isn’t enough. I’ve seen it happen, and it’s heartbreaking. This bride actually left her groom at the altar, and her reasoning really resonated with me. She explained that the man she connected with during their initial dates – when they were really just getting to know each other as personalities – was a completely different person once they started living in the real world. It’s a tough lesson, but it highlights how important it is to see who someone really is before making a lifelong commitment. That initial connection is amazing, but real life throws all sorts of things at you, and you need to know if that person can handle it with you.

So, she listened to her intuition.

She explained to the cameras that the experience didn’t meet her expectations and felt off. She also felt he hadn’t been completely honest about his life.

Anton wasn’t sure what went wrong – whether it was appearances, the general feeling between them, or simply how they lived their lives together. However, he insists he always acted with care and concern for her.

Despite finding common ground through shared experiences with family members who have Type 1 diabetes, Megan and her fiancé had very different lifestyles – he favored simplicity, while she enjoyed luxury. This ultimately led Megan to end their engagement, as shown in the season nine finale.

“It’s like we’re just passing each other without really connecting,” the entrepreneur explained. But Jordan didn’t understand what he meant, saying, “I don’t get it.”

After Megan mentioned his fussiness with food and difficult travel commitments as a father, Jordan responded by questioning why she had chosen him during the initial pod dates.

She admitted she’d initially thought their differences could work, but ultimately had doubts. Both of them started to cry as she continued, saying that knowing what she knew now, she wouldn’t have gone through with the wedding, as it would have been painful for both of them.

Jordan admitted his biggest regret was letting his son, Luca, meet her. He explained in a private interview that he believes she doesn’t love him for who he is, and realizing that is what he needs to move on.

Megan shared that the difficult experience made her doubt her abilities as a mother, wondering if she was too focused on her own needs.

At their wedding, both Kalybriah and Edmond declared their strong love for each other. However, Kalybriah ultimately rejected Edmond’s proposal, offering her apologies.

Oh my god, she said it! She actually said it! It was to the realtor, yes, but still… she basically admitted she needs someone completely ready for commitment, and she doesn’t think that’s me right now. It just… it broke my heart a little. But the best part? She made it so clear it wasn’t about not loving him! She said a ‘no’ doesn’t mean there’s no love! Like, she still feels something! I’m clinging to that, honestly. It gives me hope, you know? Maybe, just maybe…

Edmond was upset and started crying, but Kalybriah thanked him for handling the situation with dignity as she explained her difficult choice. When he asked if they might date in the future, Kalybriah reassured him that she wasn’t ruling it out completely.

“I am shocked,” he said in a confessional of her decision. “There was no bright side.”

Joe and his partner didn’t get married in season nine. He ended things after experiencing an emotional breakdown while trying on his tuxedo for the wedding.

Madison later shared with Glamour that Joe presented two different sides of himself – one off-camera, where he was comforting and affectionate, and another on-camera, which was much more reserved. She noted this contrast was particularly noticeable during the pool party scene.

Madison directly asked Joe if he was attracted to her, and he admitted it had been a problem while they were on vacation.

She asked him what kind of women he usually dated, and he said he preferred those who were smaller in stature. Although she generally feels confident, his answer briefly made her feel insecure.

Look, I’ve been following this whole thing, and I really think people misunderstood Joe. He was trying to explain something about his past relationships – he admitted it didn’t come out right – but it wasn’t meant as a comparison or a criticism of anyone. He was just trying to make sense of a pattern he’d noticed in his own life, and it just didn’t translate well.

Nick broke up with Annie right before their wedding, telling her he felt upset that she always claimed to love him more than he loved her.

Despite being told it was finished, the hairstylist didn’t accept it and pleaded with Nick to stay with her, saying, “Just stay with me and love me.”

“You can’t make one plus one equal three,” he said, prompting her to say, “Watch me.”

Nick eventually told Annie he wasn’t willing to marry her because he was unhappy.

I was so invested in Dave and Lauren’s relationship, but it sadly fell apart as soon as they got to Honduras. It turned out they actually had some friends in common, which you’d think would be a good thing! But the real issue wasn’t that – it was Dave finding out Lauren had been with someone else before the show, and he just couldn’t get past it. It was heartbreaking to watch, honestly.

Plus, Dave hadn’t wanted to introduce Lauren to his friends or family. He hadn’t even told his dad about their engagement, and his sister, who would later cause a lot of problems, completely disapproved of the relationship.

Many viewers thought Monica and Joey were a perfect match and expected them to get married. But when the time came, Monica decided she wasn’t ready to commit just yet.

She said, crying, that she was completely sure of how she felt, but felt they both still had a ways to go. Joey wholeheartedly agreed.

He hugged her and reassured her, saying it was alright. He felt they clearly cared for each other, but believed they both needed to focus on personal growth. He admitted he wasn’t ready for a relationship right now, and wasn’t completely sure he would be anytime soon.

Despite having significant differences in beliefs and values, like religion and politics, Ben and Sara appeared to be in agreement as their wedding day approached. However, they eventually decided to call off their relationship.

It absolutely broke my heart to hear Sara tell Ben she couldn’t be with him, especially after she’d already confided in me that she didn’t see a future for them. She told him, with so much love in her voice, that she cared for him deeply, but she’d always dreamed of a partner who truly got her, someone she connected with on a deeper level. She wanted to be clear that this wasn’t a decision she made lightly, and she really didn’t want him to think anything else. It was a really tough conversation to witness.

She explained that while she feels a strong connection and cares deeply for the other person, their differing core beliefs ultimately led her to make this difficult decision. Her heart wants one thing, but her head tells her it won’t work.

Devin and Virginia appeared to be a happily matched couple, looking forward to their future together after leaving the pods. However, their smooth relationship hit a snag when they started discussing a prenuptial agreement.

Ultimately, more significant problems led Virginia to end her relationship with Devin and decide against spending her life with him.

After leaving the altar, she explained, through tears, that she often felt the need to shield Devin throughout their relationship. She wasn’t sure if this stemmed from her culture, but protecting him was always a priority for her. This meant avoiding certain sensitive subjects, like politics, and respecting his boundaries even if it meant they didn’t fully explore all aspects of their connection. Ultimately, they never reached a deeper level of understanding because of this dynamic.

In the end, Daniel and Taylor were the happy couple who got engaged, promising to love each other forever, even after the holidays were over.

Despite a rocky start – Taylor thought Daniel had been checking her Instagram and knew what she looked like – they were able to move past it.

After sharing heartfelt vows, the couple had a lovely wedding and celebrated with a reception.

“We did it!” Daniel exclaimed, sitting with Taylor after their wedding. “We’re so excited to begin our lives together,” Taylor added.

Okay, so everyone knows Julian, the amazing art dealer, finally proposed to Clara, the author of Keeping Well – after all that drama with Hannah Jiles, can you believe it?! It was so exciting! But sadly, after a really short engagement, they realized they just worked better as friends. It’s heartbreaking, honestly, I really thought they were meant to be, but I guess sometimes even the most perfect-seeming couples just aren’t a match. Still, I’ll always ship them a little bit!

Brittany and Leo realized they didn’t have a romantic connection, as Brittany explained to People magazine. They discussed the possibility of a relationship at the start of their time together, but as things progressed, they both felt a lack of chemistry. Because they communicated well, the realization wasn’t difficult or dramatic—it was a respectful and straightforward understanding between them.

After becoming known from a Netflix dating show, Brittany started dating musician Mod Sun in November 2024. However, she announced their breakup in July 2025.

Monica and Stephen split up after she discovered explicit text messages her fiancé had sent to another woman while they were on vacation in Mexico. Stephen initially apologized on the show, but later posted a message on social media following the episode’s broadcast.

In an October 2024 Instagram post, he expressed his regret if his mere existence bothered anyone, apologizing to those who felt negatively affected and wishing they hadn’t had to start their day. Despite this, he affirmed his continued affection for everyone.

After leaving the pods, Hannah and Nick definitely experienced their share of challenges and arguments. Hannah famously pointed out, “I think you get treated as an equal when you start contributing like an equal.”

Everything fell apart when Hannah ended the relationship, deciding she didn’t want to get married. Nick described the split as incredibly painful, saying it was one of the worst experiences of his life.

Since then, Hannah has admitted the show forced her to do some self-introspection.

She recently shared that she’s been doing some self-reflection and realized areas where she can improve. Specifically, while she’s always been a straightforward person, she recognizes her communication style can be a bit harsh. She’s come to understand that how you say something is just as important as what you say, as she explained on an October episode of The Viall Files podcast.

Taylor and Garrett instantly connected, feeling like a perfect match – almost as if it was fate. They did face a challenge when Taylor discovered Garrett had responded to a message from a former partner, but he quickly clarified he was engaged and ended the conversation. After that, their relationship blossomed, becoming a memorable part of the Love Is Blind story.

The pair were still married at the Love Is Blind reunion in October 2024.

You’re not mistaken! Marissa and Ramses were initially considered strong contenders to succeed on the show, but Ramses ultimately decided to cancel their wedding because he had doubts.

After a serious conversation, Marissa happily told her fiancé, “I see a wonderful future with you, and I want to marry you.” He replied, simply, “I know falling in love always carries a risk, and I accept that.”

He acknowledged that their disagreements—like their differing views on the military—could be too significant to overcome. He explained that, having observed marriage both personally and through others, he believes love isn’t always enough for a relationship to succeed. Other factors need to be compatible as well.

Marissa tried to stay strong, but once she realized the relationship was truly over, she started crying. She told him, “I wish you hadn’t come here,” expressing her confusion and hurt. “I was so certain about us, and you weren’t? It’s awful. I really wanted you to pick me.” She later described the breakup as the worst day of her life.

Tyler and Ashley were a popular couple on the show, and viewers enjoyed watching their seemingly relaxed relationship develop. Things became complicated when Tyler revealed he had three children, a revelation Ashley referred to unkindly as having “sperm donor babies.” Online, people are debating how involved Tyler actually is as a father, but he hasn’t spoken publicly about these discussions.

By the October 2024 reunion show, Ashley and Tyler had resolved their differences, reconnected, and ultimately got married.

“These past two months have been life-changing,” Tyler shared as he sat with Ashley after their wedding. “And now, we get to enjoy the rest of our lives as husband and wife.”

However, Ashley later shared that the pair had called it quits following over one year of marriage.

In a statement released in January 2025, she announced that she and Tyler have separated and are divorcing. She explained that after a lot of thought, they realized they wanted different things and couldn’t continue their marriage, despite hoping they could resolve their issues with open communication.

Alex and Tim appeared to resolve their big disagreement during their trip to Mexico, and their relationship seemed stronger than before when they returned to Washington, D.C. Things got even better when Tim had a heartfelt conversation with Alex’s father, suggesting a promising future for them.

After Alex met Tim’s family, they had another fight, and Tim broke off their engagement, telling Alex he never wanted to see her again. Since then, both Alex and Tim have publicly shared their sides of the story, with Alex clarifying that the breakup wasn’t a joint decision.

Chelsea and Jimmy seemed to resolve their conflicts before their wedding during a fun date at an amusement park, after having a few arguments earlier in the season.

Jimmy ended his engagement with a shocked and tearful Chelsea, signaling he was ready to move on from their turbulent relationship.

Jimmy confessed to Chelsea during their date, ‘I’m deeply in love with you and really want a relationship, but I definitely don’t want to get married. It’s just not something I can do.’

Oh my gosh, he said they’re boiling everything down to just one big problem, but honestly, it’s been like five or six HUGE things that seriously upset me! I mean, it really got to me. Like, did you hear about Chelsea spilling Jimmy’s secret? Revealing what happened with his old friend? It was awful! It just felt like such a betrayal and it really hurt to hear about it.

After a final, emotional argument about their past relationships, Chelsea broke down in tears and left, saying, “I really thought we had a chance.”

The pair were both single during the March 2024 reunion.

Clay was reluctant to marry because of his father’s past infidelity, but AD comforted him, assuring him they could overcome any challenges together, and things seemed good between them.

However, when it came time to actually get married, Clay unexpectedly said he didn’t want to. He told AD that marrying her wouldn’t be a responsible decision because he wasn’t prepared for that commitment.

Cue the shock.

He told AD he would do the necessary work to figure things out, and they would face it together. He emphasized that he wasn’t prepared for marriage, and she deserved someone who was. He explained he wouldn’t commit until he was truly ready to give his all, and he couldn’t say yes to her proposal at that moment.

Let me tell you, witnessing that moment was truly heartbreaking. AD just had this sudden realization, and it hit her hard. She was so overcome with emotion that, through tears, she finally admitted to herself – and to everyone else – that the whole relationship had just been a complete waste of her energy and time. It was a really tough thing to see, but also a powerful moment of self-awareness.

Clay explained that both financial and emotional connections contributed to his decision to leave. He confessed, “I had to ask myself if I was still a husband, and the answer was no. I also realized I wasn’t truly in love anymore.”

At the reunion, Clay admitted he regretted their breakup and hoped to date AD again, but she didn’t reveal whether she’d be open to rekindling a relationship.

AD admitted she went on a few dates with her costar, Matthew Duliba, after filming ended, but they are no longer dating.

She announced in May 2025 she’s expecting her first baby with fiancé Ollie Sutherland.

Amy and Johnny were the only couple from season six to get married, and their celebration was beautiful. They also blended their families together wonderfully, with Amy’s father expressing how happy he is to now consider Johnny’s sister like another daughter.

As for Johnny, he too declared at his reception that his father-in-law was his “new dad.”

They are still married.

Oh my gosh, it was so cute when Brittany and Kenneth first got together! Everyone was obsessed, seriously. But then, when the show ended and they had to, like, actually live life, it just… faded. It’s so sad, but their spark just didn’t survive once they were back in the real world. I was really rooting for them!

Brittany explained to Life & Style that things changed once they left the pods and returned to Charlotte. She felt they had a very strong connection while isolated, but that passion faded a little when they had to face real life again.

Brittany and her former fiancé have stayed friends. At a recent meeting, she explained that even though their romantic relationship ended, they still share a strong and lasting connection.

Laura and Jeramey’s engagement ended abruptly when Laura discovered Jeramey had spent time with a fellow castmate, Sarah Ann Bick, while they were out. Following a heated argument, Laura broke up with him.

But instead of that, he went off to ride jet skis with Sarah Ann.

I was so surprised to hear Jeramey share during the March 2024 reunion that he and Sarah Ann had actually been dating on and off for a whole year, starting right after we finished filming! Sadly, it sounds like they’ve since gone their separate ways, which is a bit disappointing to hear.

Laura is dating someone else, who she did not identify at the reunion.

Despite overcoming challenges like Izzy’s initial connection with Johnie Maraist and Stacy’s insistence on a certain lifestyle (she didn’t want to use paper plates!), Stacy ultimately decided not to marry Izzy because he wasn’t truthful about his financial history.

Even though we didn’t have a wedding, I really wanted things to continue with poor Izzy, who was heartbroken. I still cared about him deeply and hoped we could work something out.

“We’re at different spots,” he told her. “It really breaks my heart.”

I’ve been following Stacy and Izzy’s relationship closely, and it’s complicated. Stacy really appreciates how Izzy helped her open up and deal with her feelings, but she’s just not convinced they have a long-term future. She told Izzy that ‘fairly certain’ just isn’t enough when you’re talking about spending the rest of your life with someone, and I totally get that. She needs to know, not just feel pretty sure.

Izzy is now dating surgical assistant Shelby Webb.
