007 First Light Has Appeared in the Wild Early, But Spoilers Won’t Be a Problem

Oh no! It looks like someone messed up at MI6 – copies of the new 007 game, First Light, are showing up in the mail before it’s even supposed to be released! That’s a big leak!

It’s a common issue for excited gamers: spoilers often surface online before they’ve had a chance to experience the game themselves.

It appears the physical disc version of the game has limited content available to players.

A user online says they own a copy of the 007 First Light game. They can start the game and even begin the campaign, but it’s been proven that most of the game’s story content isn’t actually included on the game disc.

So, I was watching a Q&A with the folks at IO Interactive, and someone asked a question I really wanted to know the answer to: do you need to be online to play the game, or can you play it offline? It’s a big deal for me, because my internet isn’t always super reliable.

The game doesn’t require a constant internet connection. You’ll need to download an initial update before you can start playing, but after that, you can disconnect from the internet and play offline if you prefer, according to the developer.

Players who get the game early won’t be able to experience the complete story right away. Anyone who buys a physical copy will need to download an update on release day to ensure the game works as intended.

Even though some copies of 007 First Light have been released early, it’s unlikely you’ll encounter many spoilers before the official release date of May 27th.
