PlayStation Plus subscribers who claimed a free game back in July 2022 can now get the upgraded PS5 version. Originally, in 2022, a PS4 game was offered for free to all PlayStation Plus members. However, when a PS5 version of the same game was released a few months later, those who had gotten the PS4 version through PlayStation Plus weren’t able to upgrade – even though people who bought the PS4 version could upgrade for free. This meant PS Plus subscribers were stuck with the older version. Thankfully, Sony has fixed this, and anyone who claimed the game through PlayStation Plus in 2022 can now download the PS5 version at no extra cost.
The game we’re discussing is a horror title from Supermassive Games, the creators of 2015’s Until Dawn, and Bandai Namco Entertainment. It’s called The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan, released in 2019 and updated for PS5 in 2022. This is the first installment in The Dark Pictures Anthology series, and reviews on Metacritic generally scored it between 69 and 75, depending on the platform. Currently, it usually costs around $20 on the PlayStation Store, which is a price decrease from its original launch price.

While the game received scores between 69 and 75 on Metacritic, player reviews suggest it might be better than those scores indicate. On the PlayStation Store, it has a strong 4.03 out of 5 star rating based on over 16,000 reviews from PS4 and PS5 players.
This game is an interactive story combined with the thrills of a survival-horror experience. It centers around five friends whose relaxing diving trip takes a terrifying turn when a storm hits, and they discover something much more dangerous. As you play, your choices have a significant impact on the story, the characters, and ultimately, how the game ends. Expect a playthrough to last between four and six hours, and the game is designed to be replayed, as different decisions lead to different outcomes.
