Massive Pop Culture Auction Features Over 300 Nintendo Classics, Including Original Mario, Legend of Zelda, & More

When people think of collectible gaming items, they often picture trading card games like Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Magic: The Gathering. But there’s a lot more to collecting gaming history! Many fans also enjoy collecting rare, unopened games and consoles, along with statues and other memorabilia. Nintendo fans, in particular, have a great opportunity to build a collection of hard-to-find games and systems.

Goldin’s Spring Pop Culture Elite Auction is happening now, from May 22nd to June 17th, and it’s packed with amazing collectibles! You’ll find everything from trading cards and comics to figurines and more. Nintendo fans, in particular, will be thrilled with the auction’s huge selection of over 300 retro games and consoles. Many of these items are still sealed and professionally graded, covering Nintendo’s entire history from the original NES onward. It even features highly-rated copies of games that launched some of Nintendo’s most famous series. I couldn’t resist taking a look, so I’ve put together a list of some of the most exciting items up for grabs.

Sealed NES Console and Graded OG Nintendo Games Lead Impressive Auction Lineup

Nintendo fans will find plenty to explore in this upcoming auction. There are over 367 Nintendo collectibles available, spanning decades of gaming history – from a pristine 1986 NES Deluxe Set to popular Pokémon games for the Nintendo DS and newer systems. The auction has been running for less than a day, and some items are already attracting a lot of interest. The 1986 Nintendo Entertainment System bundle is currently at $10,000 with 14 bids. Another popular item is a sealed and graded copy of the original The Legend of Zelda game from 1989 for the NES, which has reached $3,500 with 5 bids and still has over 25 days left. Several other classic, early Nintendo titles are also available, including:

  • 1989 sealed copy of the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES

In addition to the classic, original games, this auction also features many of Nintendo’s most beloved and best-selling titles. Here are a few highlights that I wanted to point out:

  • 1998 sealed copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Collector’s Edition for N64
  • Several sealed Pokemon games, including Pokemon Sapphire and Pokemon Emerald
  • Quite a few console editions of Street Fighter 2, all sealed and graded

I’ve been checking out some auctions, and you can actually find sealed, professionally graded retro Nintendo consoles! I even saw an original Virtual Boy with Mario Tennis going for around $550 with only two bids so far. Plus, there’s a bunch of cool special editions, like the Legend of Zelda 3DS from 2013. It’s making me want to start collecting again!
