Reacher’s Spinoff Gets Thrilling New Update From Lead Star: ‘We Are Getting Closer’

As a huge fan of the Reacher series, I was thrilled to hear it’s been renewed for Season 5 – and even before Season 4 came out! It’s amazing to see the world of Reacher expanding, especially with the first spin-off series on the way.

The new series was announced in October 2024, but hasn’t aired yet. Maria Sten, who is returning as Frances Neagley, recently shared that an official premiere date will be announced shortly. She also gave fans a sneak peek with a behind-the-scenes clip from filming.

Neagley Will Get More Details Soon

Sten announced on social media that more information is on the way, and acknowledged fans are eager for updates about Neagley.

The actress hinted that an announcement is coming soon, saying, “We’re making progress, I promise! We’ll share more details shortly.” She also expressed gratitude for fans’ patience, saying their continued excitement is greatly appreciated. She playfully added that whatever they’re working on will be amazing and well worth the wait, calling it “killer.”

Filming for the series began in February of last year and has now concluded. When production wrapped, creator Sten described the story as incredibly unique and exciting. While a release date hasn’t been announced yet, it’s currently expected to debut on Prime Video in 2026, alongside a new season of Reacher.

Fans will recognize Frances Neagley as a recurring character throughout the original series. Sten had a smaller role, appearing in 20 episodes – second most often after Alan Ritchson, who starred as the main character in 32 episodes across the three seasons, plus the unaired fourth season.

The character has a bigger role in the spinoff series compared to the original books. She only appears in one Lee Child novel, Bad Luck and Trouble (2007), which formed the basis for Season 2. In the series, she’s expected to investigate the accidental death of a friend.

I’m so excited to hear that Ritchson might reprise his role as Jack Reacher! Beyond that, it sounds like Neagley is assembling an amazing team. We’ll be seeing Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley, Jasper Jones as Keno, the fantastic Adeline Rudolph as Renee, Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow, and even Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole. I can’t wait to see them all together!
