As a huge Heartstopper fan, I’m already feeling a little sad that the story is nearing its conclusion! But the new photos from ‘Heartstopper Forever‘ are giving me all the feels – Nick and Charlie look absolutely adorable together, more in love than ever. It’s going to be bittersweet saying goodbye, but these pictures definitely have me excited for the finale!
The popular series, adapted from Alice Oseman’s graphic novels, will conclude with a special extended episode on July 17th. A new preview shows the main couple facing their most difficult hurdle yet: being apart from each other.
Following the events of season 3, new photos show Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke) enjoying their time together, including a dance at a party while openly a couple, and sharing loving glances in the school hallways.
Nick is preparing for university, which means he and Charlie, who still has school to finish, need some space to grow as individuals. Charlie needs to become more independent, especially since Nick is used to being with someone so outgoing and well-liked.
Long-distance relationships can be tough, especially for teenagers experiencing their first love.

They’re lucky to have supportive friends, even though everyone is dealing with their own challenges as they grow up.
Heartstopper Forever explores the mix of joy and sadness that comes with growing up and leaving home, showing the characters navigate both good and challenging times.
Will the pair manage to stay together, and are first loves able to last forever?

In an interview with Netflix’s TUDUM, author Alice Oseman—who also wrote the screenplay for Heartstopper Forever—shared that the new film will delve into themes of time, memory, love, and loss, alongside the beauty found in everyday moments, which is central to the Heartstopper story. She described it as a look at how things end and begin, and how seasons change.
In addition to acting in the movie, Connor and Locke are also serving as executive producers.
“These characters have meant a lot to us over the years,” Connor said.
As executive producers, we feel this allows us to give the project a truly satisfying conclusion. It’s a little sad, but ultimately a good way to wrap things up.

Heartstopper Forever launches on 17 July on Netflix.
