A popular anime series from Shonen Jump will return with new episodes this summer, and a new trailer has revealed the official release date for its second season. It’s been a successful period for many of Shueisha’s top creators, with several anime adaptations gaining popularity and continuing with new seasons. One creator, in particular, has had two anime series premiere within the last year, and now one of them is returning for a second season this summer, marking the start of a new phase for the show.
The anime adaptation of Kocha Agasawa’s You and I Are Polar Opposites premiered earlier this year and quickly gained a following. Fans won’t have to wait much longer for more, as Season 2 is set to release on July 5th. A new trailer has just been released, offering the best look yet at the upcoming episodes. You can watch the trailer for You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 2 below.
When Does You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 2 Come Out?
The second season of You and I Are Polar Opposites premieres on July 5th as part of the Summer 2026 anime lineup. Fans outside of Japan will be able to watch it exclusively on Crunchyroll, adding to the platform’s summer content. The team behind the first season is returning, with Takakazu Nagatomo directing at Lapin Track. Teruko Utsumi is writing the scripts, Mako Miyako is designing the characters, and tofubeats is composing the music.
The second season of You and I Are Polar Opposites will have a new opening song called “Nekojarashi” performed by the band 7co. The original voice actors will also be returning, including Sayumi Suzushiro as Miyu Suzuki, Shogo Sakata as Yusuke Tani, Anji Iwata as Kentaro Yamada, Kokoro Omori as Natsumi Nishi, Wataru Katoh as Shuji Taira, Miyuri Shimabukuro as Shino Azuma, Konatsu Hirabayashi as Aoi Sato, Yuna Taniguchi as Manami Watanabe, and Tomori Kusunoki as Rikako Honda. What Is You And I Are Polar Opposites?

I was so excited when You and I Are Polar Opposites finally got an anime adaptation earlier this year! The manga first came out on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ back in 2022, and while it’s a shorter story – only eight volumes long – the anime really captures the charm. The first season had 12 episodes, and it’s all about how Suzuki and Tani, who seem totally different at first, fall for each other fast. Seriously, they basically start dating by the end of the first episode – it’s a super cute and quick romance!
This anime is a lighthearted romantic comedy that jumps right into the fun of its characters’ everyday lives, rather than focusing on whether they’ll fall in love. It also follows their friends and explores other potential relationships, making the upcoming second season especially promising with all the new and unpredictable scenarios it will bring.
