It would be a big mistake—huge—to miss Euphoria.
The latest episode of the HBO show featured a shocking and violent death of a key character, as well as a very intimate scene between Sydney Sweeney and Homer Gere, son of Richard Gere, who recently appeared on the show for the first time.
In a recent episode, Cassie Howard, played by Sydney, attempts to gain more attention for her OnlyFans account after a brief appearance on the show L.A. Nights was canceled. She seduces actor Dylan Reid (played by Homer), and after they have sex, she accesses his phone and posts a provocative photo to his Instagram, boldly captioning it with a sexually explicit description of herself.
Oh my gosh, you guys, filming Euphoria was totally insane for Homer! I mean, can you believe his mom is Carey Lowell, the actress from Law & Order?! He actually told me it was a ‘wild’ experience, and honestly, I’m living for it! It just makes him even cooler, knowing he comes from such a talented family. I’m obsessed!
In April, the 26-year-old told Entertainment Tonight that this was their first time working on a professional film set, describing it as a thrilling and challenging experience. They said it felt like being thrown into the deep end, but in a good way.
“I’m an actor playing an actor playing a character,” he continued. “You kind of get lost in it.”

So, did Homer end up turning to his dad for acting pointers? Not quite.
He explained that he doesn’t rehearse lines with the actor, jokingly suggesting it would be amusing to practice scenes from Euphoria with the Pretty Woman star. He added that the actor offers excellent advice, not specifically about acting technique, but more about maintaining a positive attitude and handling situations effectively.

Homer shared that he has a very close relationship with his children, including Alexander, 7, and James, 6, whom he shares with his wife, Alejandra Silva.
“I’m calling him every day,” he added. “Having that kind of sounding board constantly is amazing.”

Jennifer Lawrence says her feelings about appearing nude on screen have changed over time. She admits she was quite uncomfortable when she filmed her first nude scene for the 2018 movie Red Sparrow.
Jennifer Lawrence admitted she was initially frightened by the prospect of filming nude scenes in Red Sparrow. She explained to Vanity Fair that she attempted to avoid nudity in the role, but ultimately decided it was important for her to experience what her character was going through for the sake of authenticity.
However, when filming intimate scenes with Robert Pattinson for the 2025 film Die My Love, she was comfortable with nudity and didn’t hesitate to show skin.
During a film screening, she explained that she wasn’t concerned with any nudity, and wanted director Lynne Ramsay to have complete creative control.

John shared a behind-the-scenes look into his sex scene with Amy Schumer in 2015’s Trainwreck.
He explained on the August 2024 episode of Club Shay Shay that the situation wasn’t personal at all, and actually quite embarrassing.
Luckily, John had a very understanding costar.
He described Amy as wonderful, saying she created a really comfortable atmosphere. Then, after he got the role, he was surprised to learn the scene would involve extensive and complicated physical intimacy, and that most of his lines wouldn’t be used – they just wanted to focus on that one scene.

The actress, known for her role in Fantastic Four, shared that she felt very uneasy filming a nude scene for the 2005 film. The scene involved her character, Sue Storm, appearing naked on a bridge.
“I thought that was awful,” Jessica shared in 2025. “It was very humiliating in real life.”
I come from a fairly conservative family and I’m generally a private person, so I was really worried about that scene for weeks. It was a difficult experience, and I’m still feeling the effects of it.

George Clooney, known for his roles in films like Ocean’s Eleven, shared that he decided to stop doing on-screen kisses after talking it over with his wife, Amal Clooney.
He explained that he adopted a similar approach to Paul Newman, stating, ‘I decided to stop pursuing romantic relationships.’ He told the Daily Mail in 2025 that when he turned 60, he discussed this with his wife, adding, ‘I’m still physically active – I play basketball with men much younger than me, guys in their twenties.’
He joked that he’s still fit and able to keep up, but realistically, at 85 in 25 years, age will inevitably take its toll – no amount of healthy eating can change that.

The actress known for her role in Titanic has often talked about the awkwardness of filming intimate scenes.
Kate described the scenes as “really awkward” in a 2017 interview with TopMob News, adding that there’s no way to see them as anything else.
After filming numerous scenes like this over the years, she’d become quite comfortable with the process, playfully directing the crew as if she were an experienced professional: ‘Alright everyone, here’s how we’ll do it.’

Despite its reputation for passionate romance, the actor says filming the intimate scenes on Bridgerton isn’t actually very sensual, largely because they work with an intimacy coordinator on set.
In a 2021 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Phoebe described filming the scene as feeling like a carefully choreographed stunt – it appeared authentic, but safety measures were in place. She noted the camera angles were different from previous intimate scenes she’d done, and expressed surprise at how recently these safety protocols had become standard practice, calling it a ‘game changer.’
The actress, known for her role in Fair Play, explained that she and her co-star, Regé-Jean Page, felt very comfortable and secure after practicing their scenes. They had rehearsed so thoroughly that they knew exactly what to do on set. This precise preparation meant the director didn’t need to offer additional direction or make changes during filming.

The Masters of Sex star had a similar approach when it came to sex scenes with co-star Lizzy Caplan.
Michael explained to The Wrap in 2015 that discussing sex scenes can be tricky and people often feel awkward about it. He said the team made a point of having very open communication from the start, ensuring every scene was thoroughly discussed beforehand to avoid any discomfort or misunderstandings.
He and his fellow actor created a detailed plan to discuss everything beforehand, ensuring they were fully prepared before filming began.
Michael explained that it’s crucial to clearly communicate the physical aspects of a scene – like the costumes – to everyone involved beforehand. He emphasized discussing these details with the wardrobe, hair, and makeup teams to avoid any surprises on set. During filming, the set is completely closed to ensure actors can quickly get covered up with clothing or accessories the moment the director calls ‘Cut.’ No unauthorized personnel are allowed near the monitoring area.

Although the actor from You knew the show involved filming some intimate scenes, Penn Badgley did ask the show’s creator, Sera Gamble, if he could reduce the number of those scenes he had to perform.
Penn said on the Podcrushed podcast in 2023 that he’d made this decision even before starting the show. He revealed he’d never spoken about it before, but a key question for him was whether he wanted to return to a career focused on playing romantic leads.
The choice was also connected to his marriage with Domino Kirke. Penn emphasized that being faithful is very important to him in any relationship, particularly within a marriage.
He explained that he reached a point where he no longer wanted to continue. He told Sera he wanted to completely stop, saying, ‘I really have no desire to go from doing something full-on to doing nothing at all.’

The Academy Award nominee has always been uncomfortable with filming intimate scenes. In a 2017 interview with TopMob News, she admitted, “I really don’t enjoy them. I just want to get them done quickly.”
Kirsten, who is married to Jesse Plemons, has realized she often enjoys collaborating with female directors like Sofia Coppola. This preference comes from past experiences with male directors who tended to over-shoot scenes, trying to capture everything from multiple perspectives.
Kirsten shared that Sofia wants to finish the project quickly and efficiently, planning to film it in just a few takes.

Dakota Johnson, known for her role in Fifty Shades of Grey, has shared that she actually finds filming intimate scenes quite easy, playfully adding that she doesn’t need to do any mental preparation beforehand.
Dakota discussed her approach to intimate scenes during a 2025 appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, saying she’s generally very open to them. She explained that she always considers the character she’s playing and how the audience perceives that character first.
She wondered if this person was a glamorous celebrity, a stay-at-home mom, or someone struggling with loneliness and fear. Was she traditional and reserved? She realized she was starting to build a complex character.
It also helped that Dakota’s mother, Melanie Griffith, taught her to be confident and love her body.
She continued, saying she’s always been thankful for it, particularly in her career because it allows her to connect with authenticity and make her work feel genuine.
