How Long Is 007 First Light? Story Length and Tactical Simulator

Most players should be able to finish the main story of 007 First Light in about 20 hours, according to the developers. This playtime estimate doesn’t include the Tactical Simulator, a separate mode that offers replayable challenges beyond the main campaign.

I saw a video from YouTuber JorRaptor who said he talked to the game director and other developers at IO Interactive. Apparently, they’re estimating the main story will take most players around 20 hours to finish. Of course, that could change depending on how hard you play and what kind of approach you take!

How long is 007 First Light based on playstyle?

How long you spend playing the game depends on your playstyle and the difficulty level you choose. Skilled players on easier settings might finish in around 15 hours. Those who prefer a challenge or like to explore everything could take closer to 25 hours. If you complete all the optional missions, find all collectibles, and earn all trophies, the game could take between 30 and 40 hours to finish, but that’s just an estimate. The main story generally takes about 20 hours.

Currently, 007 First Light doesn’t offer a New Game Plus mode. This means the game is designed to be played through once, and doesn’t have a feature that lets you start a new game while keeping your progress from the first playthrough.

What is Tactical Simulator and does it add to the length?

So, the main story length doesn’t include the Tactical Simulator, which is a really cool mode. It’s like those Hitman levels where you keep repeating the same map, but it’s way harder with extra challenges and online leaderboards to compete with friends. And the best part? They’re planning to add even more missions after the game comes out, so it’ll keep getting bigger and better!

Players can only use cosmetic outfits – including those unlocked through preorders or special editions – in the Tactical Simulator mode, not the main story campaign. This gives the Simulator a real purpose beyond just being an extra thing to do. Those who really dive into the Tactical Simulator can expect to spend significantly more than the estimated 20 hours completing the main campaign.

IO Interactive hasn’t officially confirmed the 20-hour playtime estimate. For now, consider it the best guess we have until players start sharing their own experiences after the game is released.
