007 First Light Jewel of Jahari: How to win the Cup Game explained

Okay, so I’m totally stuck on the Jewel of Jahari Cup Game in 007 First Light – and apparently, I’m not alone! It’s a tough one, but at least I know others are struggling with it too.

This game is designed to be unfair unless you know a specific secret for the “Past Never Dies” mission. Without that knowledge, it’s impossible to win.

So, for a quick guide on how to overcome the Jewel of Jahari, here’s what you need to know.

007 First Light Jewel of Jahari: How to win the Cup Game explained

Start the task by talking to Nirmala at the market’s pawn shop and choosing the option “Anything I can do for you?” when she speaks to you.

To start the Cup Game, you’ll need to give Aadan $3,500. You can earn this money by winning fights in the Fighting Pit, or by stealthily pickpocketing the soldiers near the market.

If you play the game as intended, Aadan’s trickery guarantees you’ll lose no matter what choice you make – it’s a bit unfair, really.

Fortunately, it’s easy! As soon as you begin playing, press and hold the L1 button (on PlayStation) or LB button (on Xbox) to turn on your Q-Lens.

Once Aadan reveals the Jewel, it will glow orange when viewed through the Q-Lens, letting you follow its location.

Okay, so I figured out a trick with this puzzle! If I mark the cup before the Jewel goes in, it’ll always be under the middle one. But if I forget to mark it first, the game won’t register it, and even if I pick the middle cup, I still lose. It’s like the game needs me to ‘tag’ it beforehand!

Okay, so once I snag the Jewel, I need to head back to Nirmala at the pawn shop and give it to her. She’ll immediately give me $30,000, and that finishes up the Cupped Challenge – awesome!
