Cronos: Lazarus Discovered at Chinese Social Media Event, Potential Announcement Coming Soon – Rumor

Bloober Team previously hinted at something new for Cronos: The New Dawn, focusing on a specific door called LZRS 28. It now appears this could be a completely new game called Cronos: Lazarus, or potentially downloadable content or an expansion to the existing game.

According to ‘Necro’ Felipe from Universo Nintendo, this is connected to an event run by the Chinese social media platform, Jike. While more information is still needed, an official global announcement seems likely within the next few weeks, potentially coinciding with events like State of Play and the Summer Game Fest.

So, is another installment coming? Bloober Team previously stated they weren’t planning one, and they’re currently working on other games, including Project M for the Nintendo Switch 2 and Layers of Fear 3. They’re also developing a remake of the original Silent Hill, in partnership with Konami, after the positive reception to the Silent Hill 2 Remake.

It’s much more probable we’ll see a substantial expansion, possibly even a separate game, that continues the story of the original. However, Bloober Team doesn’t typically include features like replayable modes or bonus content. We’ll have to wait and see what they announce, so keep an eye out for future news.

You can now play Cronos: The New Dawn on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. As of October, the game had already sold 500,000 copies. A demo is available, and a recent free update added the easier Temporal Diver difficulty setting. If you’re interested, you can read our review where we gave the original game a 9/10 score.
