Hulu’s Returning 2-Season Crime Series Officially Becomes Streaming Hit With An Unusual Trend

Hulu’s returning 2-season crime series is slicing through the streaming charts.

Hulu has become known for high-quality TV shows thanks to hits like The Bear, The Handmaid’s Tale, and Shōgun. They’ve also had great success with crime dramas like Only Murders in the Building, Fargo, The Act, and Under the Bridge. Now, one of their crime series is gaining popularity again, adding to their impressive lineup.

Hulu’s new crime comedy, Deli Boys, is quickly becoming a popular streaming show. Created by Abdullah Saeed, the second season premiered in March 2025 and tells the story of two spoiled brothers, born to Pakistani-American parents, who discover their father—the owner of a thriving deli business—led a secret double life. After his death, they’re unexpectedly thrown into the criminal world he left behind and must try to take over his operations.

As of today, June 4th, Deli Boys is the 5th most popular show on Disney+ in the United States, following the release of its second season on May 28th. It’s currently behind Sofia the First: Royal Magic, Bluey Minisodes, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, and The Mandalorian, but ahead of shows like Daredevil: Born Again, Doctor on the Edge, Secrets of the Bees, Marvel’s The Punisher, and The Book of Boba Fett.

Interestingly, Deli Boys isn’t currently in the top 15 shows on Hulu, which is a bit surprising. Usually, shows that become this popular appear on both Hulu’s and other charts. This difference might be due to Hulu merging with Disney+, how each service counts viewers, or simply that audiences are watching it differently on each platform.

Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, Alfie Fuller, Poorna Jagannathan, and Brian George lead the cast of Deli Boys. Kevin Corrigan, Tim Baltz, Sakina Jaffrey, Amita Rao, Iqbal Theba, and Sofia Black-D’Elia have recurring roles, while Geoffrey Arend, Azhar Usman, and Tan France make guest appearances.

Season 2 of Deli Boys is adding some new faces! Fred Armisen will be a main cast member, joining Andrew Rannells and Kumail Nanjiani who will appear in multiple episodes. Lilly Singh and Robin Thede will also make guest appearances.

Season 2 of Deli Boys is a hit with both critics and viewers. It’s earned a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a jump from the already impressive 96% score of season 1. Viewers also love the new season, giving it a 91% approval rating compared to 83% for the first season.

According to Angel Shaw in a ScreenRant review, the second season of Hulu’s Deli Boys is a hilarious crime comedy that unfortunately feels too short. Shaw believes the show has truly found its footing this season, with the Dar brothers delivering what she calls a crime comedy masterpiece.

Season 2 of Deli Boys is impressively well-written, but the real strength of the show lies in its fantastic cast.
