The highly anticipated Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the summer of 2026. We’ve got all the information on what’s new, including details on features and the confirmed release date.
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Switch 2 release date
Following a period of quiet and a setback due to concerns about how the game was running, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will be released late this summer.
- Elden Ring Tarnished Edition release date: August 28, 2026
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Switch 2 content and features
The Elden Ring Tarnished Edition bundles the original game with the expansive Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. It also introduces fresh content, including two new ways to begin your adventure with unique starter classes, completely new armor options for your character, and customization features for your spectral steed, Torrent.
As of now, it’s unknown whether the final version of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on the Switch 2 will offer multiple graphics settings to balance visual quality and performance. Early demos received criticism for prioritizing graphics at a fixed 30 frames per second. However, given the time since then, it’s likely a performance mode targeting 40 FPS—or even a higher, unlocked framerate—has been added, potentially using technology like DLSS to improve performance.
Is Elden Ring Tarnished Edition’s new content coming to other platforms?
The new content for Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will be released simultaneously on all platforms it’s currently available on: PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
While the exact price isn’t known yet, reports from Japan suggest it could cost between $3 and $5, likely due to its small size.
