With many major games already scheduled for September, Bit Reactor’s Star Wars Zero Company is launching just a bit earlier to avoid the crowded release window. According to industry insider billbil-kun, the strategy game, similar to XCOM, will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC starting August 27th.
Electronic Arts announced on Twitter that they’ll be showing gameplay footage on June 5th at Summer Game Fest, making this news even more significant. Pre-orders are expected to start soon after, with the standard version costing around $49.99 on PC and $59.99 on PlayStation and Xbox. The deluxe edition is rumored to be priced at $59.99 on PC and $69.99 on consoles.
We don’t yet know what benefits Deluxe Edition owners will receive, but it seems they won’t get early access. Currently, only the Standard Edition is planned for a regular, wide release.
We’ve been excited about Star Wars Zero Company since it was announced, as it aims to deliver a strategic experience inspired by shows like Andor and The Clone Wars. Players will step into the role of Hawks, a former Republic officer, leading a team of mercenaries to confront a rising danger.
Like the game XCOM, this title features permanent character death, but focuses more on how your characters interact with each other and the impact those interactions have on the story. Plus, with no major competing releases on the horizon right now, it’s looking especially promising.
Get your squad ready: New gameplay trailer for #StarWars Zero Company drops during #SummerGameFest! Tune in June 5 at 2pm PT here:
