Global Beatles Day to be celebrated with new special release of iconic performance in colour

This year’s Global Beatles Day will feature a special release of a newly colorized version of one of the band’s most famous performances.

June 25th is celebrated as the anniversary of The Beatles’ famous performance of “All You Need Is Love” on the BBC’s Our World program in 1967.

For the first time, newly colorized video of this famous performance from almost 60 years ago will be available to watch online.

The performance was shown live on the BBC’s Our World program, marking the first time their hit song, “All You Need Is Love,” was broadcast internationally via satellite. It reached a massive global audience of around 400 million viewers.

In 2009, after being a Beatles fan her whole life, Faith Cohen created Global Beatles Day to celebrate the band and their music. It’s a celebration organized and run entirely by fans.

To celebrate the band globally with both online and in-person events, Apple Corps Ltd – the company created by The Beatles – will release a colorized version of their iconic “All You Need Is Love” performance from the BBC’s Our World program on YouTube for free on June 25, 2026.

In a letter to Faith Cohen this week, Apple Corps CEO Tom Greene commended the fan-led effort, noting that The Beatles’ message – and especially the sentiment behind “All You Need Is Love” – feels particularly relevant today, emphasizing the importance of community, connection, and bringing people together.

That’s what’s so wonderful about Global Beatles Day. It simply encourages everyone, no matter where they are, to pause, listen to the Beatles, and spread a little happiness.

Following an announcement earlier this month, the famous 3 Savile Row – the site of the Beatles’ legendary rooftop performance – will be transformed into an official fan experience center, scheduled to open in 2027.

Fans can look forward to seeing The Beatles’ story told on screen again soon. A new BBC drama series, called Hamburg Days, will focus on the band’s beginnings and their time playing in Hamburg.

Before four upcoming films directed by Sam Mendes, this series focuses on each member of the band individually. The cast includes Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.

You’ll be able to watch The Beatles’ colorful performance of ‘All You Need Is Love’ from the BBC’s Our World program on YouTube starting Thursday, June 25th.
