Kyle Busch will always be number one in Samantha Busch’s heart.
It’s still so hard to believe Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s incredible life ended on May 21st at just 41 years old. As I’ve followed his career and family life for years, I was deeply touched by what Amy, his wife of 15 years, shared after his passing. She spoke so movingly about their life together and their two sweet children, Brexton, who’s 11, and little Lennix, who’s only 4. It just breaks your heart to think about them.
Samantha shared on Instagram on June 5th that her family wanted to express their gratitude. They were deeply touched by the outpouring of support – the prayers, messages, flowers, food, and comforting hugs – which helped them cope with a very difficult time. Despite their immense grief, they felt surrounded by love and God’s comfort through everyone’s kindness.
Samantha—who wed Kyle in 2010—also noted the effect he had on those outside of his loved ones.
We’ve been deeply comforted by the incredible love and support everyone has shown our family during this incredibly difficult time. It means so much to see how Kyle touched so many lives and how people are honoring his memory with acts of kindness – it truly shows how special he was. While the pain of losing him is sometimes overwhelming, we’ve been reminded again and again that we don’t have to go through this alone, thanks to all of you and our faith.
She finished by saying thank you to everyone – family, friends, fans, and even those who didn’t know them personally – for their incredible support. She expressed deep gratitude for the love shown to her family and especially to Kyle, and for the way everyone honored his memory. They may not be able to fully put into words how much it means, but they are profoundly thankful.
Samantha shared a heartfelt message two weeks after the celebrated race car driver passed away. He had been hospitalized with a serious illness and died just hours after his family made the announcement, marking the end of a highly decorated career.
