Adult Swim’s My Adventures With Superman is offering a fresh and exciting take on Superman and Metropolis. The show’s third season kicks off on June 13th, and the creators have teased some major surprises. Expect inventive twists on well-known Superman stories like “The Death of Superman” and “Reign of the Supermen,” as Clark, Lois, Jimmy, and Kara face their biggest challenges yet. Recently, the team at egmr.ru spoke with series showrunners Jake Wyatt and Brendan Clougher about a mysterious Dark Knight and the wider DC Universe.
Fans of My Adventures With Superman will be excited to hear that a spin-off, My Adventures With Green Lantern, is in the works, focusing on Jessica Cruz. While many are hoping for a series featuring Batman, the creators have shared that those plans are currently on hold due to scheduling conflicts. They’ve confirmed that a Batman story might appear as a single episode or potentially become a full series later on, but their priority is expanding the universe around Superman and his family. They’re exploring what other heroes could look like within this shared world.
The Man of Steel x The Dark Knight

Clougher explained they’re eager to explore lesser-known characters from the DC Universe, saying they’d jump at the chance if Adult Swim asked them to develop one. While Superman is already well-established, working on him would be a bonus. They’re definitely open to doing more projects if offered. Wyatt added that My Adventures With Superman and My Adventures With Green Lantern weren’t their only ideas. They pitched several concepts to the company, and Green Lantern was the one that moved forward. It was the first pitch they made, so they were thrilled when it was approved after initially being put on hold, and they’re now in production.
Jake shared that they’re more excited about exploring lesser-known characters from the comic book world rather than focusing on the popular, main heroes. He specifically mentioned wanting to do a story inspired by Darkman, and expressed enthusiasm for characters like Adam Strange and John Carter, seeing potential for fun and unique interpretations. While Darkman isn’t a DC character, fans would likely enjoy seeing the team tackle this Sam Raimi creation.
Although My Adventures With Superman hasn’t featured Batman yet, the show has included references to his world. We’ve heard mention of Gotham City, and the character Vicki Vale – a longtime ally of Batman – has appeared as a competitive colleague of Lois Lane since the first season. These details suggest the creators might be setting the stage for Batman to appear in the future, if they choose to do so.
Season three of My Adventures With Superman begins on Adult Swim June 13th, with episodes becoming available on HBO Max the next day. New episodes will also air weekly on Cartoon Network after the premiere.
