The next Avengers movie, titled Doomsday, is set to feature a huge cast of superheroes, and one actor has hinted at significant changes for some characters. The film will bring together several teams – including the Thunderbolts, Sam Wilson’s Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Wakandans, Thor, and Namor – and even a hero many believed was lost for good. What surprised many fans is the return of Captain America, even though he ended Avengers: Endgame as an elderly man.
Lewis Pullman, who stars as Sentry in Thunderbolts and will be back for Avengers: Doomsday, recently told Deadline that the upcoming Marvel movie has some surprising twists in store. He said many fan-favorite characters will continue their stories in ways people won’t see coming, and he believes that will make audiences want to watch the film multiple times.
Lewis Pullman Teases Marvel Character Changes In Avengers: Doomsday

Lewis Pullman hasn’t seen the movie yet, so he can’t say much about what audiences can expect. But, as a cast member, he hinted that major events will unfold for some of Marvel’s established characters.
One reason Avengers: Endgame was such a massive hit was because fans loved rewatching key scenes – like Captain America lifting Mjolnir and Iron Man’s sacrifice. According to Pullman, Avengers: Doomsday should offer similar moments that will encourage repeat viewings. The big question now is, who will be at the center of these moments and what will their stories be?
Captain America and Thor are the most likely candidates. While Captain America’s story seemed finished after Avengers: Endgame, hints suggest he might be from a different time, which could significantly impact his future, as well as the stories of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Thor is another possibility, as his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is also nearing its conclusion.
The most persistent rumors suggest the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be bringing back actors who played the X-Men in previous Fox films. However, there’s speculation that many of these characters, including iconic roles like Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen), might be killed off. This could finally give Cyclops (James Marsden) a proper send-off, something he didn’t receive in X-Men: The Last Stand. Some believe this storyline will follow the comics, leading to widespread deaths followed by a resurrection in a new form during Avengers: Secret Wars. Despite this potential for loss, actor Bill Pullman hints that Avengers: Doomsday will introduce changes for several characters that will leave audiences eager for the next installment.
