As Xbox Returns to Exclusives, Halo Remake Embraces PS5 with PS5 Pro Gameplay Trailer

It still feels a bit odd, doesn’t it? Seeing Halo on PlayStation 5, particularly with Microsoft recently focusing more on making games exclusive to their own consoles.

Halo: Combat Evolved is launching on PlayStation consoles at the same time as it releases on Xbox and Steam, and we’ve now gotten our first look at how it runs on the PS5.

This latest trailer for the remake has been captured on PS5 Pro, and it looks pretty dang good.

This new video is visually impressive, blending cinematic cutscenes with actual gameplay. And when the familiar main theme starts playing, it’s really exciting!

So, this is basically a fresh take on the very first Halo game, but with a twist – they’ve left out the classic multiplayer. It’s all about reliving the original campaign, which is awesome, and you can even play through it with a friend in co-op if you want!

It also includes a handful of new missions set before the main campaign.

One of the main reasons people are excited about this game is that it’s new to PlayStation, and the developers at Halo Studios intend to make the most of that opportunity.

The game has been improved for the upcoming PS5 Pro and will take full advantage of the DualSense controller’s features. The developers see bringing Master Chief to PS5 as a great opportunity to broaden the Halo universe and welcome more players into the community.

The highly anticipated game is launching on July 28, 2026, meaning PlayStation 5 owners won’t have to wait much longer to experience Xbox’s biggest first-person shooter.
