Karl-Anthony Towns Credits Jordyn Woods’ Lucky Bag for Knicks’ Win

Jordyn Woods gave Karl-Anthony Towns the ultimate assist.

Following the New York Knicks’ 94-90 victory over the San Antonio Spurs to win the 2026 NBA championship on June 13th, star player KAT jokingly credited his fiancée’s lucky purse with helping the team achieve their historic win.

In a video posted by the NBA, Karl-Anthony Towns celebrated their victory by saying, “We won!” and playfully referring to the prize money as “the bag,” adding, “The bag always wins!”

Towns added, “I want everyone in New York to know that bag won the championship.”

In the video, Woods was seen holding Karl-Anthony Towns’ hand while carrying a bright orange purse – part of her own fashion line, Woods by Jordyn – which she considers lucky.

But Towns—and Knicks fans—haven’t deemed the bag lucky for no reason.

The Knicks haven’t lost a game all season when Woods brings her lucky bag. Their only loss this season happened because the arena didn’t allow bags during game three of the NBA finals on June 8th.

As for the accessory’s origin story?

She explained to The Cut in a June 13 interview that she’d created the outfit some time before for the playoffs. Knowing her team was likely to make it based on their previous success, she wanted to showcase her own brand, Woods by Jordyn, with what she wore.

She continued, explaining that as long as she wore the item, her team kept winning. The only time they lost was when she wasn’t allowed to bring it into Madison Square Garden, which caused a lot of excitement and worry.

However, Jordyn Woods, who got engaged to Karl-Anthony Towns last December, understands that talent alone wasn’t enough for the Knicks to succeed.

She was quick to point out that the team’s success wasn’t due to her, but rather their own incredible abilities. She also admitted to being superstitious – once things start going well, she prefers not to change anything, fearing a loss if she does.

But win or lose, Towns is just happy to have his fiancée by his side.

He explained that they share a strong connection that goes beyond just appearances. They’ve developed a genuine friendship over time, building it from the very beginning.
