Resident Evil Zero Remake “Rebooted Mid-Development,” Now Led by Veronica Team – Rumor

Okay, so everyone’s super excited for Resident Evil Veronica, and Capcom seems to be on a roll with the series – they’re planning to release it in 2027. But remember all the talk about a Resident Evil Zero Remake? We heard it might come out in 2028, but honestly, who knows if that’s still happening – things can change!

According to AestheticGamer (also known as Dusk Golem), the game was restarted during development. They say that Capcom’s Division 1 team is now in charge. This division has developed every Resident Evil game since 2017 and is also working on a remake of Veronica. It’s unclear why the change happened, but it seems the team who worked on the Resident Evil 3 Remake was originally leading the project. Capcom likely decided to put Division 1 in charge because of their recent success with other games.

There’s also the upcoming story addition for Resident Evil Requiem, which was announced last March. Although it would have logically come out before Veronica, reports suggest it will be released afterward. According to Dusk Golem, its release timing is still uncertain and potentially quite far off. The expansion is expected to center around Leon S. Kennedy and appears to include Ada Wong, who hasn’t been seen since Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Capcom is doing well, with a new Resident Evil game – whether a sequel or remake – coming out successfully every year. Rumors suggest Resident Evil Veronica could release in the first half of 2027 on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
