Netflix has renewed the show for a second season, which premiered on May 28th and quickly became popular with viewers.
Just under three weeks after speculation began, Netflix announced that The Four Seasons will be back for a third season, promising more getaways and realistic storylines. The series was created by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield.
The creators of The Four Seasons were excited about the show being renewed for a third season. They thanked viewers in a statement to Tudum and playfully encouraged those over middle age to celebrate with them – “LFG!” (Let’s Fing Go!).
Tracey Pakosta, Netflix’s VP of US comedy, described the show as a delightful and heartwarming look at a group of friends and their often-unpredictable lives.
What Happens in The Four Seasons Season 3?
Premiering in May 2025, The Four Seasons is a TV series inspired by Alan Alda’s 1981 film of the same name. The show centers around three couples who have been friends for years, and how their relationships are affected when one couple decides to split up. Over eight episodes, viewers follow these friends on yearly vacations throughout spring, summer, autumn, and winter, each trip taking place in a new location.
In Season 2, the show explored the aftermath of Nick’s sudden passing, the complex bond between Anne and Ginny—including Ginny’s new baby—and Danny and Claude’s journey as they tried to start a family.
Anne had a hard time with dating after her relationship ended with Nick and a short romance in season three. However, she met Gianpiero – played by David Tennant – at the end of season two, and fans anticipate seeing him again in season three. The popular actor, known for his role in Doctor Who, is expected to return.
Ginny will return in the next installment of the series, and Tina Fey has indicated she’ll continue to be included with the core group of friends if the show continues beyond that.
While the exact places are still a secret, Fisher hinted that the upcoming vacation spots will feature four different seasons and four unique locations, promising plenty of opportunities for relaxation and fun.
The Four Seasons is streaming on Netflix. Season 3 doesn’t have a release date.
