*Warning – Contains full spoilers for The Bear season 4*

The complete fourth season of The Bear has been released on Disney Plus for viewing, picking up from where the third season left off with a suspenseful cliffhanger. However, the conclusion of season 4 takes a slightly distinct turn.

The finale leaves some room for uncertainty; it could be considered as a definitive conclusion, or it might just be a pause in the ongoing adventure of our main characters, inviting us to speculate about what’s next.

Here’s what we know about Season 5 so far: The creative team behind this drama has shared some information. If the show returns, when can we anticipate seeing new episodes? Let’s explore what they’ve mentioned!

Read on for everything you need to know about The Bear season 5.

Will there be The Bear season 5?

It remains uncertain if The Bear will come back for season 5, or if we’ve just bid farewell to Carmy, Sydney, and Richie for good.

Although the show hasn’t been renewed as of now, it’s not entirely ruled out that it might happen. Unlike seasons 4 which was confirmed ahead of season 3’s premiere, seasons 2 and 3 were only greenlit a few months following their respective releases.

As stated by FX Chief John Landgraf, the decision to renew the series hinges more on creator Christopher Storer’s vision for the program, rather than relying on the viewership of Season 4.

In an interview with Variety back in July 2024, he shared that it’s uncertain if there will be a Season 5. He emphasized that such decisions are predominantly based on creativity and ultimately rest with Chris Storer.

He added: “How many more stories does he still have left? Ideally, I’m hoping he has several seasons worth of tales to share. However, I wouldn’t want it to drag on so much that a single fantastic season or three average ones would be preferable over one great one. The creative process should always guide us.

In terms of creativity, it’s challenging to predict where Storer and the team are headed. The culmination of season 4 seems reminiscent of the Ted Lasso season 3 finale, as it shows the lead character departing their position, but also lays the groundwork for intriguing narratives involving the other characters in future episodes.

Indeed, the series might turn out to be insightful since it initially appeared as if it would explore new territories by spinning off stories without the main character. However, this isn’t what happened, and the show is now back for a fourth season, focusing on Jason Sudeikis’s Ted Lasso character once more.

For now, The Bear’s fate is still up in the air. We expect to learn more in the upcoming weeks and months, so keep checking back for updates on this page.

When would The Bear season 5 be released?

If “The Bear” comes back for its fifth season, we might expect its premiere around June 2026.

The Bear television series has maintained a steady pace with its annual releases, with each season premiering in June, one year after the previous one.

Although the season 4 finale seems to wrap up several storylines from the show, and some cast members are becoming more active in other projects (such as Ebon Moss-Bachrach who is working on Avengers: Doomsday), it might lead to a longer delay until we see a new season.

If the series comes back, it’s probably going to debut a bit later than expected, possibly as late as the end of 2026, or perhaps even slated for early 2027.

We will keep this page updated if we get any more concrete news regarding a potential release date.

Who would return to star in The Bear season 5?

In a potential fifth season, it’s likely that many main and recurring characters will be back on set. Yet, there’s an unexpected question mark regarding one significant figure – Jeremy Allen White’s character, Carmy.

At the close of season 4, Carmy chose to distance himself from the restaurant, no longer feeling an emotional connection to it.

It doesn’t necessarily mean he has quit the show. Some of the characters we watch may not even work at The Bear, and there’s always a chance that Carmy could return or we might follow him during a different stage of his life.

Similarly, should Jeremy Allen White decide to take a break from the series for a single season, this situation might provide him with that chance.

If it’s assumed that he will make an appearance in some form, these actors from season 4 who portrayed recurring characters are probable candidates for returning in season 5:

1. Actor A as Character X
2. Actor B as Character Y
3. Actor C as Character Z

(Note: The order of the names and characters can be adjusted as needed.)

  • Jeremy Allen White as Carmen ‘Carmy’ Berzatto
  • Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu
  • Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richard ‘Richie’ Jerimovich
  • Lionel Boyce as Marcus Brooks
  • Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina Marrero
  • Abby Elliott as Natalie ‘Sugar’ Berzatto
  • Matty Matheson as Neil Fak
  • Edwin Lee Gibson as Ebraheim
  • Oliver Platt as Jimmy ‘Cicero’ Kalinowski
  • Chris Witaske as Pete
  • Jon Bernthal as Michael ‘Mikey’ Berzatto
  • Robert Townsend as Emmanuel Adamu
  • Molly Gordon as Claire
  • Jamie Lee Curtis as Donna Berzatto
  • Sarah Ramos as Jessica
  • Andrew Lopez as Garrett
  • Adam Shapiro as Chef Adam
  • Gillian Jacobs as Tiffany Jerimovich
  • Will Poulter as Luca
