The Court of Owls is a secret society that first appeared in Batman comics in the 2010s. Similar to a real-world Illuminati, they’re a group of wealthy and influential people who have secretly controlled Gotham City since its founding. Members hide their identities behind owl-like masks and operate from a hidden network of tunnels and structures beneath the city. They enforce their control using highly trained assassins called “Talons.” Because of their powerful connections and deeply buried secrets, the Court of Owls often poses a threat to both Bruce Wayne personally and to Batman.
Many fans believe the Court of Owls will be the main villains in The Batman: Part II. This group offers a lot of potential for a compelling and mysterious story, blending espionage with superhero elements, and could deliver major surprises without relying on over-the-top comic book theatrics.
