The integration of various game stores onto the Xbox PC platform, such as Battle.net, Epic Games Store, and Steam, is now starting for some members of the Xbox Insider Program on Windows 11. However, not everyone can see it yet, hinting at potential A/B testing or a gradual rollout that varies among users due to other factors.
The games displayed have low-resolution art like Stellar Blade or Silent Hill 2, and launching them opens Steam, which means the Xbox PC app is essentially a launcher for your launcher at this point. This also means if you own multiple copies of a game across different storefronts, they will appear one after another. It remains to be seen how many copies of certain titles can be lined up in a row.
This development coincides with Microsoft’s increased focus on enhancing gaming experiences on Windows 11, particularly with the Xbox PC interface. This work is intended to bring benefits before the release of the Xbox Ally handheld devices later this year.
