Adam Driver Reacts to Lena Dunham’s “Feral” Behavior Claims

Adam Driver is addressing Lena Dunham’s bombshell claims about him—kind of.

Following allegations in Lena Dunham’s memoir, Famesick, that Adam Driver had occasional intense outbursts while filming Girls, he responded with a playful comment.

During a press conference for his film Paper Tiger at Cannes, Adam declined to discuss the matter, stating he’s reserving all details for a future book, according to Variety.

Although Adam’s remarks made people laugh, Lena reportedly didn’t find his behavior funny at all. She described it as inappropriate and shared an example from a rehearsal to illustrate her point.

In her memoir, Famesick, Lena recounts an incident where Adam, in a fit of anger, shouted, “Say something!” and threw a chair at the wall beside her. He then aggressively told her, “Wake up! I’m tired of watching you just stare,” Lena explained that at the time, she was experiencing dissociation due to undiagnosed endometriosis.

She particularly remembers their romantic scenes, as they played the main characters and love interests, Hannah and Adam.

Lena claimed the planned choreography for their sex scenes wasn’t followed during filming. She said Adam, while acting, would move her around roughly during those intimate moments.

Let me tell you, sometimes when you’re directing a scene, things can get…unexpected. I was shooting this particular scene, and honestly, I was bracing myself for it to go very off the rails – like, instantly transported back to a 70s adult film! Thankfully, after a little bit of playful acting – some mimed movements, you could say – I realized we needed to stop, and I called ‘cut’ before things went any further. It’s all part of the fun, and keeping things under control, of course!

Lena mentioned that Adam Driver told her he’d “always love” her when they finished filming in 2017, but she never heard from him after that.

TopMob News previously reached out to Adam’s rep regarding Lena’s comments but did not hear back.

Even though Lena made claims in her book, Adam has said many times how much he enjoyed working with the actress from This is 40.

In a 2017 interview with Larry King, he expressed his admiration, saying, “She’s incredibly precise in her writing and really encourages a creative environment where everyone feels free to experiment.”

As he put it, “It really is the best kind of, great, working environment.”
