Just a heads-up – if you’re reading the *Spy x Family* manga, this article contains spoilers! I recently watched the premiere of *Spy x Family* Season 3, and it’s already getting pretty emotional, focusing on Loid Forger’s difficult past. The first episode started off like a typical, fun adventure for the Forger family, with Franky and Nightfall teaming up in a surprising way. But things took a serious turn in the second episode. Anya actually gets hit by a Tonitrus Bolt while trying to help Damian, which was such a shock that it made Loid faint! The rest of the episode then dives into Loid’s childhood, showing us he always loved playing soldier, even though his father didn’t approve.
Loid’s carefully constructed life is thrown into chaos when Ostania invades Westalis, leading to a devastating war. We’ll learn more about how he became Westalis’s top spy in Season 3, Episode 3. As the anime gets more dramatic, the manga is also reaching a critical point, finally exploring the secrets of Donovan Desmond. After briefly focusing on Yor’s latest assignment, the manga hinted at Donovan’s psychic abilities and was building towards revealing the truth, but it has unexpectedly paused without explanation.
The Spy x Family Manga Is on an Unexpected Hiatus

This manga is usually updated every two weeks, and a new chapter was expected on October 12th, 2025. However, instead of a new chapter, the creators released a Halloween illustration to promote the third season of the anime. The last chapter, number 123, was released in two parts, with the final part available on September 28th, 2025. According to Manga Plus, the official online platform for the series, there won’t be any new content – not even a single panel – until November 9th, 2025, meaning a delay of over a month. The reason for this break hasn’t been officially announced.
Tatsuya Endo, the creator of the series, recently posted a new image on X (formerly Twitter) to highlight the ending theme song for Season 3, performed by Lilas Ikuta. Despite being active on social media, Endo hasn’t commented on the manga’s recent break. He typically uses his X account to announce new chapters or share additional artwork. While there’s been no official explanation for the hiatus, it’s likely due to the creator being busy or dealing with health concerns – common reasons for unexpected breaks in manga releases.
The current storyline in the *Spy x Family* manga is packed with action, and it looks like we might finally learn how Donovan and Anya are connected – they both have special abilities! Season 3 of the anime will have 13 episodes, released weekly on Saturdays. You can watch the new episodes, as well as the first two seasons, on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
