Alex Cooperis heading to the big screen.
The host of the Call Her Daddy podcast is taking on a new acting role in the upcoming movie based on Colleen Hoover’s novel, Verity.
A preview of the movie was shown at CinemaCon on April 15th, featuring Bradley Cooper as he interviews the character Verity Crawford, played by Anne Hathaway, as reported by Deadline.
Although the 31-year-old actress is playing a version of herself in the new drama, this will be her first time acting in a professional production.
In the movie Verity, writer Lowen Ashleigh (played by Dakota Johnson) is asked to finish the book of an author who was injured in an accident.
The teaser takes a creepy turn when Lowen spots Verity watching her from the windows of the house she’s staying in. This leads to disturbing visions of their characters kissing, and a tense scene where Lowen attempts to flee, according to Deadline.
Besides the upcoming premiere of Verity on October 2nd, Cooper has also been making headlines for other reasons this week.
She’s currently in a public disagreement with Alix Earle, which escalated recently when Earle shared a TikTok from April 9th. The TikTok criticized Cooper, calling her an “ambulance chaser” and “grim reaper” because of the difficult experiences celebrities discuss on her podcast.
After Earle’s post, Cooper responded with a TikTok on April 13th, telling Earle to clearly state any issues she had with him.
She urged him to be direct and state his issue instead of involving others. She expressed frustration with his attempts to create drama online as a distraction from his own problems, stating she was aware of the situation and didn’t want to be involved.

Earle, age 25, responded to a video by Cooper, promising to share more details soon. She wrote, “Okay on it!!” The former Dancing With the Stars contestant also posted a TikTok on April 14th, saying the video “literally made my whole day.”
Popular TikTok creator Brianna LaPaglia, also known as Chickenfry, also weighed in on the situation, posting videos on April 15th to support Earle.
With accusations spreading online, Cooper insists this isn’t a publicity stunt.

Alex Cooper, the host of the Call Her Daddy podcast, has started a new media company called The Unwell Network. One of the first creators signed is TikTok star Alix Earle, who will work with the company to create content for various platforms.
Alix quickly became popular in the U.S. thanks to her ‘get ready with me’ videos, relatable college life content, and charming personality,” Cooper explained in a statement. “I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and help the next generation of creators succeed.”
Earle’s Hot Mess podcast premiered the following month.

I was so excited to hear that Alex Cooper signed a new deal after her time with Spotify! It’s amazing – she’s reportedly getting $125 million from SiriusXM to bring everything over, including Call Her Daddy and her other podcast, Hot Mess. I can’t wait to keep listening to all her content on SiriusXM!

Soon after Earle missed a Super Bowl party hosted by Unwell in New Orleans – even though she was already in the city for the game – it was announced that her podcast, Hot Mess, had been cancelled by the company.
SiriusXM also gave up its rights to the show and stopped running advertisements for it.

Earle suggested there might be issues leading to her decision to stop recording the Unwell podcast, stating she’s taking an indefinite break from podcasting.
She explained in a TikTok on March 26th that she didn’t want to share specifics at the moment, but expressed how much she enjoyed creating the podcast and how proud she was of the result.
Cooper immediately dismissed rumors that Earle’s break from podcasting was related to Unwell, clarifying that Earle still owned the Hot Mess podcast as part of their agreement.
Cooper posted on Instagram that they didn’t understand why the person was upset or what was happening. They added that ‘Unwell’ had returned all of her intellectual property.

Earle remained vague about the circumstances surrounding her departure from Unwell, hinting in a May 2025 interview with WSJ. Magazine that it was “a bit chaotic” behind the scenes.
In August 2025, a TikTok user asked Callie Earle about her relationship with Alex Cooper. Earle responded with a mysterious message: “How much time do you have?”

Cooper criticized Earle for her indirect behavior on social media, directly challenging her in a TikTok video to openly share any issues she had. Cooper pointed out that there were no restrictions preventing Earle from speaking honestly about him.
What’s going on with this conflict? I’m frustrated with constantly seeing you create drama to divert attention from your own issues online. Just tell me what’s happening, because unless this made-up story is more appealing than the truth, I have nothing to hide between us.
In response, Earle simply commented, “Okay on it!!”

Okay, so you won’t BELIEVE this. Brianna, aka Chickenfry – she’s amazing, seriously – she used to work with Dave Portnoy, you know, from Barstool, on their ‘BFFs’ podcast? Well, when all the drama with Earle blew up, she totally took his side! I was SO glad, honestly. She just gets it, you know? I always knew she had good taste.
In a TikTok video, she explained that she used to admire Alex Cooper, but now she’s seen a different side of her – a side that involves how she allegedly treats others and the impact she has on them.
Okay, so I was listening to this interview with LaPaglia, and she dropped the biggest bomb! Apparently, she heard everything about the ‘Hot Mess’ drama ages ago – like, two years ago! And get this – according to Alix Earle, Alex Cooper is just… a really mean person. I knew it! I always felt something was off, and now it’s confirmed. Alix told her! It’s insane!

Cooper responded to Anthony LaPaglia after he called her a “mean girl.” In an Instagram Story, she explained they’ve never actually met and have only communicated through direct messages.
To support her claims, the founder of Unwell shared screenshots of what they said were private messages exchanged over time. These messages showed a history of friendly interactions, including sharing phone numbers and invitations to events.
“What I just showed is the only interaction we’ve ever had. And you hate me?” Cooper added. “That has never been the nature of our relationship.”
