Apple TV has become known for popular shows like Severance, Shrinking, and Slow Horses. However, earlier content helped build the platform’s initial success.
Originally, the show was planned to finish after three seasons, but it’s been renewed and will return! Apple TV+ has announced that Season 4 of Ted Lasso will premiere on August 5th, and they’ve also released a short preview.
What Happens in Ted Lasso Season 4?
The first look at Ted Lasso Season 4 reveals Jason Sudeikis back in London, facing a fresh set of challenges. The short teaser features snippets from the upcoming season, showing Ted adjusting to his new team and the struggles that come with it.
In Season 4, Ted heads back to Richmond, where he faces his toughest job yet: coaching a women’s football team in a lower league. Over the season, Ted and the players learn to be brave and take risks, pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones.
Season 4 will feature the return of Jason Sudeikis alongside Emmy winners Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein, as well as Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift. Joining them will be new cast members Tanya Reynolds (known from Sex Education), Jude Mack (Back in Action), Faye Marsay (Game of Thrones), Rex Hayes (Bregus), Aisling Sharkey (Jurassic World: Dominion), Abbie Hern (Enola Holmes 2), and Grant Feely (Obi-Wan Kenobi).
I was completely hooked from the start! The show began with Ted Lasso, this amazing American football coach, getting the surprise opportunity to coach a professional soccer team in England. The catch? He knew absolutely nothing about soccer! It was his incredible personality and positive attitude that got him the job, and it was just such a fun premise to watch him navigate that new world.
I was completely hooked on Ted Lasso from the moment it premiered on Apple TV! It blew up instantly, and everyone – fans and critics alike – just loved it. The first season was a huge hit, racking up more Emmy nominations than almost any comedy ever. And unbelievably, it actually won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series two years in a row – that’s seriously impressive!
Ted Lasso Is 1 of Apple TV’s Biggest Hits
Before the release of its fourth season, Ted Lasso proved its lasting popularity. According to data from FlixPatrol, the show spent over 800 days in the top 10 most-streamed TV shows in the United States. Remarkably, Ted Lasso has been on the platform longer than shows like Severance or Slow Horses – it currently holds the record with 800 days, surpassing Severance‘s 774 days.
Ted Lasso is streaming on Apple TV. Season 4 returns on Aug. 5.
