Atomfall TV show officially in development after winning BAFTA

Shortly after winning the BAFTA for Best British Game, Rebellion announced that their post-apocalyptic survival RPG, Atomfall, is being adapted into a TV series.

Atomfall takes place in a 1960s Britain that’s different from our own. The government was secretly working with nuclear power in the Lake District when something went wrong, turning the area into a terrifying and strange place.

The story begins with a person waking up in a quarantined area, completely unsure of their identity. They must fight to survive against both the military and even stranger dangers, all while trying to uncover the truth behind a mysterious accident and the unsettling events that followed.

Initially, people expected the game to be similar to Fallout, but set in Britain. However, it evolved into something far more immersive, with a detailed world and exciting action. Now, the creators, Rebellion, are developing a TV series based on the game.

Rebellion’s Atomfall TV show will expand the mythology of the game

Shortly after winning the Best British Game award at the 2026 BAFTAs, Rebellion announced a TV show called Atomfall on April 30th. The announcement didn’t say if the show would be live-action, but it promised to build upon the game’s story while staying true to its original style, ideas, and British setting.

Two Brothers Pictures is developing the ‘Atomfall’ TV series, and the game’s creators, Jason and Chris Kingsley of Rebellion, have said the production company is committed to staying true to the original game.

We’re excited to work with Two Brothers to adapt Atomfall into a TV show. In a statement, the creators said Harry and Jack, the showrunners, showed a real passion for the game and even shared their ideas for how the story could end while playing it.

We’re thrilled to collaborate with others who are as dedicated to crafting compelling stories. We believe this partnership will result in a TV series that both game fans and new viewers will love.
