In the third and darkest installment of Rian Johnson’s murder mystery series, the character portrayed by Daniel Craig, Benoit Blanc, takes on his most perilous case yet. A young priest named Jud Duplenticy (Josh O’Connor) is tasked with assisting the charismatic and enigmatic Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin). However, it becomes apparent that all is not as it seems within the church congregation. The devoted followers of Wicks include Martha Delacroix (Glenn Close), a pious churchgoer, Samson Holt (Thomas Haden Church), a reserved caretaker, Vera Draven, Esq., a tense lawyer (Kerry Washington), aspiring politician Cy Draven (Daryl McCormack), the town’s doctor Nat Sharp (Jeremy Renner), best-selling author Lee Ross (Andrew Scott), and talented cellist Simone Vivane (Cailee Spaeny). The sudden, seemingly impossible murder of one of the congregation members leaves no obvious suspect, prompting local police chief Geraldine Scott (Mila Kunis) to collaborate with the celebrated detective Benoit Blanc in an attempt to solve a mystery that defies logic.
