As a huge animation fan, I always loved how different The Ricky Gervais Show on HBO was. Most adult cartoons have a set cast and a specific world, but this one was totally unique. It started as a podcast, and the show basically took the rambling, hilarious conversations between Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, and Karl Pilkington and animated them like an old-school Hanna-Barbera cartoon. There wasn’t much of a plot, really – it was just them going off on tangents and arguing with each other, and that’s what made it so funny!

Sean Murphy, Matt Hollingsworth, and Todd Klein’s Batman: White Knight, first published in 2017, quickly became a fan favorite. Since then, the story has expanded with several sequels and spin-offs. Now, Murphy has announced a new installment, and for the first time, Superman will appear in the White Knight universe. Murphy also shared a first look at Superman’s design, and it’s exciting to see these two iconic heroes together in this world. You can see the new design below.

Most people remember Practical Magic, a beloved 90s movie about sisters Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gillian (Nicole Kidman) Owens. They come from a family with a history of magic, but they’ve tried to avoid using it themselves. However, things change when Gillian’s violent boyfriend suddenly dies – a pattern with all of her relationships – and the sisters are forced to use real magic. This attracts the attention of a local police officer, Gary Hallet, who becomes suspicious. In an attempt to fix things, Sally and Gillian accidentally bring a man named Angelov back to life, but an evil spirit ends up possessing his body.

The final episode of My Hero Academia shows that while the world is now peaceful, Deku and his friends haven’t had much time to consider their own futures. They’ve been so focused on their hero work that they’ve neglected their personal lives. The episode culminates in both Deku and Ochaco realizing they want a deeper connection with each other and have been putting off building that relationship.

The initial excitement around the 2025 release of Daredevil: Born Again stemmed from the character’s popularity and the story’s promise. Thankfully, the first season lived up to expectations, and the second season was also generally well-received. However, as the show moves into its third season, it’s clear that Daredevil: Born Again needs a fresh storyline.

The critically acclaimed British drama Threads, depicting a nuclear apocalypse, is coming to 4K Blu-ray. Severin Films is releasing a 4K UHD version scanned from the original 16mm film reels. You can preorder it now from the Severin Films website for $45. It will be officially available on July 28th, coinciding with news of a new television adaptation being developed by Warp Films.
