At the recent Xbox Developer_Direct 2026, Game Freak shared new information about their upcoming game, Beast of Reincarnation. They showed off gameplay footage, including how the combat works and how the main character, Emma, will explore the world with her wolf companion, Koo.
Plants are a core element of the world of Beast of Reincarnation. The game’s setting has been overrun by a dangerous, parasitic plant called the Blight, and the protagonist, Emma, has a special connection to more helpful plant life. Emma and her companion, Koo, will battle creatures overtaken by the Blight, which makes them more aggressive and gives them new, powerful abilities. Players will also fight corrupted animals and mechanical enemies called Golems, who are described as having lost their souls.
Because of her link to the Blight, Emma possesses unique combat skills. For instance, she can summon a spider lily to launch into the air and perform an aerial attack.
Set in the year 4062, Beast of Reincarnation follows Emma, who was born with a mysterious connection to a dangerous force called the Blight. Her companion, Koo, is a creature affected by the Blight, known as a Malefact. This creates an unusual dynamic, as Emma’s job is to hunt down creatures like Koo as a Sealer.
I’m so excited! I just heard that Beast of Reincarnation is finally launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in Summer 2026. And the best part? It’s going to be on Game Pass right when it comes out, which is awesome!
