Bethesda Issues Second Starfield PS5 Crashing Fix, Live Now

Following a recent, small update for Starfield on PS5 – which only addressed crashing problems in one graphics setting on the PS5 Pro – the publisher has released another patch.

Bethesda recently released a quick update for Starfield on PlayStation 5. This update fixes a bug that could cause the game to crash when looking at the load order, and also includes several other improvements to stability and prevent crashes.

Bethesda plans to continue updating Starfield, and they’ve thanked players for reporting the recent crashes on PlayStation 5. They seem optimistic that today’s update will resolve these issues, but it remains to be seen if the fix works as expected over the next few hours and days.

Since the game launched on PlayStation 5 earlier this month, many new players have reported crashes happening in various situations. Although not everyone is affected, Bethesda has acknowledged these issues and released a quick update today to address them.

Our Starfield PS5 review, which earned a 7/10 score, went smoothly without any technical issues. We especially enjoyed the game’s faction storylines, and the updated combat and new features made it a fun experience. However, with two and a half years of updates since release, the game has changed quite a bit, and not all of those changes are improvements.

Now that the update is installed, please share your Starfield experiences on PS5 in the comments, and let us know if you’re still encountering any crashes.
