Black Clover Quietly Solves Naruto’s Biggest Ending Problem

After 11 years, the popular manga series Black Clover has finished its run, despite changes in how it was published. The story of Asta’s quest to become the Wizard King – a goal he shared with his friend and rival Yuno – was full of exciting battles and heartfelt moments. While not flawless, Black Clover managed to deliver a satisfying conclusion, which is notable considering the controversial endings of other popular series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man. The ending was straightforward and optimistic, showing a clear victory of good over evil.

A key element that always made Black Clover compelling was the intense rivalry between its main characters, which was established from the beginning and captivated fans. This rivalry split the fanbase, with many passionately supporting either character to become the Wizard King. The ending rightfully showed both were worthy, leading to a climactic duel that Asta ultimately won. More than just a spectacular finish, this fight was emotionally resonant and felt more earned than the final battle between Naruto and Sasuke in Naruto.

Asta and Yuno’s Final Fight Surpasses Naruto and Sasuke’s Clash

Wow, the fight between Naruto and Sasuke after Kaguya was absolutely epic – seriously, one of the most visually stunning battles in the whole series! It all came down to their different ideas about how to achieve peace. Sasuke thought the only way was to wipe the slate clean – get rid of the Tailed Beasts and the current leadership to build a totally new shinobi world. They went all out, and both ended up losing an arm! But then, surprisingly, Sasuke just…agreed with Naruto? It felt a little rushed to me. I always saw Sasuke as this really compelling, tragic villain – someone who was willing to take on all the world’s pain and rebuild from the ashes, and that sudden shift didn’t quite fit.

The ease with which Naruto abandoned his resolve and didn’t revisit it makes his character development feel incomplete. It also suggests a lack of true understanding between him and Sasuke; their conflict seems more about dramatic effect than genuine connection. Black Clover, on the other hand, developed Yuno and Asta’s bond through constant challenge and their shared dream of becoming the Wizard King, forging a lasting rivalry. This groundwork made their final battle – a decisive fight for the Wizard King title, with the loser accepting defeat – a satisfying and emotionally resonant conclusion, giving their rivalry a meaningful and powerful ending.

I’ve been a huge fan of both series, and while the battle between Naruto and Sasuke definitely had intense emotional weight because of their different ideas about peace, it felt a little unsatisfying when Sasuke just dropped his beliefs right after. Everyone always says Black Clover borrowed a lot from Naruto, but honestly, its ending really shows how it carved out its own identity. It actually stuck the landing better, in my opinion, and it’s easily one of the strongest endings I’ve seen in a recent shonen manga – it really proves Black Clover deserves to be considered something special.
