After eleven years, the popular manga series Black Clover has concluded its run in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Details about the final volume are now being revealed. A few years ago, the series began its final story arc, and creator Yuki Tabata moved to a quarterly release schedule—publishing new chapters every few months instead of weekly—to carefully craft the ending. The grand finale was officially released this spring.
The final volume of the Black Clover manga, volume 38, will be released in Japan on August 4th. Fans are excited and hoping it includes extra content that expands on the story’s conclusion. While it’s unknown if this volume will feature an extended epilogue – similar to those found in series like My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen – the cover art has been revealed online by @WSJ_manga on X.
Black Clover Volume 38 First Look Revealed
In addition to a special guidebook coming out in Japan on the same day as the final volume, it’s still unknown if the book will include any bonus content from the manga. Black Clover concluded this spring with a three-chapter finale, and many fans are hoping for an extra chapter to expand on the ending. A lot of readers felt the series ended rather abruptly.
The battle against Lucius Zogratis in Black Clover concluded at the beginning of the year, and the series recently finished with three final chapters that showed the aftermath. These chapters answered the biggest question fans had – who would become the next Wizard King – and finally revealed which of the two main characters, Asta or Yuno, was stronger. Despite the resolution, however, many readers felt something was still left unresolved.
What’s Next for Black Clover?

The ending of Black Clover has been a topic of discussion among fans, especially when compared to other recent anime conclusions. Now, after almost five years, the anime series is returning with new episodes later this year, giving us a chance to see how the story’s grand finale will be adapted.
I’m so excited for Black Clover Season 2! It’s aiming for a release later this year, though we don’t have a specific date just yet. Pierrot is animating it, which is great, but details on who’s working on it or if the same voice actors are returning haven’t been announced. The good news is it’s jumping right into the Spade Kingdom Raid arc – so if you need a refresher, you can binge everything right now on Crunchyroll! Seriously, get caught up – it’s going to be epic.
