Sony Pictures is making an R-rated animated movie based on the video game Bloodborne. The project is a collaboration between PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation, and popular online personality Jacksepticeye (Sean McLoughlin). Funding is being shared by Sony Pictures and Lyrical Media, the parent company of Lyrical Animation.
During the CinemaCon 2026 announcement, Sanford Panitch, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Motion Picture Group, stated the movie will closely follow the original feel and themes of Bloodborne.
Bloodborne is an action role-playing game created by FromSoftware and released by Sony Interactive Entertainment, a part of the Sony Group. It first became available for PlayStation 4 on March 24, 2015.
