After an early renewal for season 2 of Mark Gatiss’s detective series “Bookish,” several cast members who were previously part of the show have been confirmed to return.
With creator and lead actor Gatiss returning, we also see the comeback of Polly Walker (Bridgerton), Elliot Levey (We Were the Lucky Ones), Connor Finch (Professor T), Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners), and Buket Kömür (Generation Z).
Further information about the additional actors joining us for Season 2, which spans six additional episodes, with each pair forming individual narratives, will be unveiled as time goes by. Production on our upcoming season commences this summer.
In the initial series, set to premiere on the 16th of July, we meet Gabriel Book – a character portrayed by Gatiss – who is the proprietor of an antique bookstore in 1946. He assists the local law enforcement in resolving an array of baffling crimes by utilizing his extensive knowledge of rare books and hidden secrets within them.

If his war was brimming with espionage and hidden truths, Book’s tranquility is equally bursting with excitement! Now he assists the law enforcement in solving the most peculiar crimes and the most intricate homicides.
However, being closely connected to such a powerful entity isn’t devoid of risks. While he’s contentedly wedded to his long-time friend Trottie (Walker), Book is a man who identifies as gay, a reality that was criminalized during his era.
In simple terms, a standalone book entitled “Bookish,” penned by author Matthew Sweet, delves into criminal narratives through the eyes of Nora, a character from the series, and is set to hit shelves on July 17th.
