As reported by Deadline, Logan Lerman will join the cast of Netflix’s remake of 13 Going on 30, alongside the original star, Jennifer Garner, who will also serve as an executive producer. Garner famously played Jenna Rink in the 2004 film – a teenager who magically becomes 30 years old. Lerman will play Matty, Jenna’s childhood friend and eventual love interest. The original 13 Going on 30 was a popular blend of fantasy and romance, showing that becoming an adult isn’t always easy or what you expect.
BAFTA-nominated director Kirk Jones, known for the well-received film ‘I Swear’ about Tourette’s syndrome, will be writing and directing a live-action movie based on Mr. Benn, rather than a remake of the animated TV series. Casting for Mr. Benn and other characters will begin later this year, and filming is scheduled to start next year.
