Coronation Street airs mysterious encounter for Jodie Ramsey in early ITVX release

Jodie Ramsey, played by Olivia Frances Brown, was shaken up by a strange experience on Coronation Street.

Honestly, we’re still trying to figure out this new character. She’s been taking some strange things – like a picture of Bernie Winter-Alahan and a book that belonged to Brian Packham – and she’s also been making a move on her brother-in-law, David Platt.

He hasn’t noticed her attempts to build a relationship with him, but he did mention to his brother, Nick Tilsley, that something about her felt off.

She’s upset a dangerous group and hired someone to make her disappear, plus she stole a hard drive from a previous boss. Today, two of her former employer’s associates showed up looking for it.

Shona Platt, fiercely protective of Jodie, quickly told the men they had the wrong person and that she’d never heard of Jodie Ramsey. But wanting to end the confusion, Jodie came forward and admitted who she was.

The men wanted the hard drive back, so Jodie gave it to them, assuring them she hadn’t made a copy. Shona noticed how upset her sister was, and even though she’d just told Jodie to leave town for her own safety, she now thought it was better if Jodie stayed in Weatherfield.

Jodie was thrilled, likely because it gave her a better chance to connect with David. While Shona was at the hospital meeting her new baby, Harper, Jodie was unpacking and found something surprising.

I was completely floored when I found an old drawing behind a family photo – it was one she’d made for her sister, Shona, years ago, and Shona always said she never got it. But then, listening to a voicemail David left, it hit me: Shona had deliberately ignored her sister’s pleas for help. It was a really upsetting discovery, and everything just clicked into place.

She was incredibly angry when she received David’s message about the house, and immediately went to lie in their bed, waiting for him to come home. David arrived, noticeably intoxicated and not thinking clearly, and began to kiss her with great passion.

Once Jodie realized the error, she pretended to be the victim, accusing David of intentionally trying to make a move on her. She then made a deeply hurtful comment, questioning whether he remembered correctly the details of his sexual assault by Josh Tucker in 2019.

David helped her outside, and with just a few belongings, she walked to the police station.

Someone from her past unexpectedly reappeared, startling her. Now she’s wondering who it is and what their intentions are.
