Fans of Coronation Street and Emmerdale won’t be able to watch new episodes tonight, as both shows are off the air.
Both shows usually air weeknights for half an hour, as part of a new scheduling plan that began in January, designed to group soap operas together.
Recently, several episodes haven’t aired on their usual nights and were moved to Sundays instead. Tonight, April 14th, the show is being replaced by ITV’s broadcast of the England versus Spain FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Qualifier.
Seema Jaswal is hosting the match, and Karen Carney and Anita Asante are providing live commentary and analysis from Wembley Stadium.
Viewers will be pleased to hear that the episodes will air in their usual slots from tomorrow.

After a shocking scene on Monday’s Coronation Street, where Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) arrived at Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) house injured and needing to report his abusive husband, Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), a special episode will focus on Todd courageously sharing the details of the months of abuse he endured.
News of his ordeal will spread throughout Weatherfield, but will he finally be able to escape Theo?

I’m really hoping this new evidence helps Moira – she deserves a break! And honestly, I’m crossing my fingers it’ll also clear things up for Bear. Paddy’s really worried about his dad, and it would be amazing if this could help them both.
Things get much worse when Detective Superintendent Walsh (Amanda Ryan) proposes a shocking idea: Bear might have been Ray Walters’s (Joe Absolom) accomplice, and even killed him to take over his criminal activities.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm and from 7am on ITVX.
