After a dramatic week on Coronation Street, it’s been revealed who Betsy Swain (played by Sydney Martin) discovered dead in a shocking finale.
We first saw hints of this death in a brief scene set in the future back in February. This week, a series of episodes showed us what was happening to those nearing death while everyone else was enjoying Connor and Swain’s wedding in Underworld.
The people most at risk were Megan Walsh, Jodie Ramsey, Carl Webster, Theo Silverton, and Maggie Driscoll.
Today on the show, Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) pursued Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) through Weatherfield, ultimately leading them to the precinct – a location that seems to attract all the bad guys.
He rushed over to Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) and asked if she’d seen the person he was looking for. However, she was distracted, still upset about being kicked out of the Platt house after making a move on her brother-in-law, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd).

She tearfully told Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) that she couldn’t return to the cobbles.
Outside the police station, Maggie Driscoll and Megan Walsh fought. Megan was threatening to confess she’d killed her husband, Alan, by pushing him down the stairs. Maggie responded by threatening to do the same to her.
Will Driscoll (played by Lucas Hodgson-Wale) suddenly halted their progress, deeply angered by what his grandmother had done. He angrily told her he didn’t want any further contact with her.

At the police station, Kit Green explained to Eva, Toyah, and Leanne that they shouldn’t stress too much about hitting Megan, because they’d just discovered proof that Megan was actually the one abusing Will.
Sarah Platt returned to find her house at No. 8 completely wrecked. Furniture was scattered everywhere, and as she started looking around, Jodie suddenly hit her on the head with a decoration and ran away.
Fortunately, David and his wife, Shona (Julia Goulding), arrived soon after and were able to take her to the hospital. Jodie had to leave because she felt incredibly awkward after David made a pass at her, and she left him a voicemail explaining why.

He deleted the message, choosing not to tell Shona.
Todd quickly rejoined George and Christina, relieved to tell them he’d escaped from Theo and was now safe. Unbeknownst to them, Theo was actually just around the corner, having an argument with Summer in their flat above the corner shop.
But what about Carl (Jonathan Howard), I hear you ask?
Carl was found trapped under his stepfather Kevin’s car. Ronnie Bailey, Kevin’s son, quickly put Carl in his car and was later spotted wiping blood from the seats. It turned out Carl had been rushed to the hospital.

Laying unconscious in a bed, he began to flatline, and medical staff circled around to perform CPR.
Okay, so I was totally gripped watching this scene! Poor Maggie was just lying there in Victoria Gardens, and then these two girls showed up looking really worried. It immediately made me wonder – what happened to her? Who could have done this?
Just a short distance away, Betsy and her friend Lauren Bolton (played by Cait Fitton) were on their way to get Betsy’s ID before going out in Manchester. They’d already had a lot to drink, and Lauren told Betsy she needed to use the restroom before they could continue their night.

I was walking along and ended up in this little alleyway, and that’s when I saw her – Betsy – following me. We both noticed someone lying down in the back of the corner shop. It was a bit of a shock, honestly.
It was Theo!
Now that Theo is gone, the question is: who was responsible? Could it be Gary Windass, who recently sent him a threatening text?
Was that sudden change in weather a form of payback for enjoying the summer? Or could it be George, who Christina observed was now wearing a different sweater?
Could Todd be responsible? There are so many questions, but for now, so little answers.
You can watch Coronation Street this Friday at 8:30 PM on ITV1. The episode will be available on ITVX after it airs on television.
